I agree with ImitableGraph0 up to some point

I mean, come on guys, all he wanted was a DLC playlist in Reach.

That’s all. I think we can all agree that DLC in Reach was managed in a kind of messy way, and many DLC playlists were removed. With 343 announcing that they would remove the Squad DLC playlists, it’s only logical that someone would stand up and disagree.

I just hope the LE is worth it at the end. It would be sad to have those 9 new maps merged into playlists that occasionally have them available. If you payed the extra bucks, shouldn’t you be allowed to enjoy those maps?

How about we do what GOW3 does, if the host has the map, people without the DLC can play on it.

The reason no one played the DLC playlists on Reach was because they didn’t
t like Reach that much and felt entitled because they didn’t get the Halo game they wanted.

I have always believed that there should be a DLC playlist avaiable for everyone who decides to spend the extra money. Otherwise, people just don’t have enough incentive to buy DLC at all.

True, but people have to be willing to buy it. In Reach, people weren’t as keen to buy it.

It’s all the same to me because I’ll be getting everything for less than $ 60 anyways legally just like I have with the past halos, but does not mean that I will not feel bad for the people that will actually pay for the full price just so they can play the dlc for a limited time.

There are still some DLC playlist available. Read the Bulletin.

Well, having the initial Noble Map Pack playlist removed was kind of a downer. An unnecessary downer. So what if there aren’t enough people playing on DLC maps?

Let those few warriors have a blast out of the extra money they paid. It’s not so hard.

First of all he was a troll, and had you read the entire topic you would have clearly seen that. Second, he didn’t come out saying that there wasn’t a DLC specific playlist, he said the ENTIRE LE was a scam, which with even removing the DLC it’s still a great deal, and better than some some limited editions that had a higher price point. Lastly, you can still play on those maps, you still have custom games, and the maps are still cycled through matchmaking. I can’t understand why people would complain about rarely getting the DLC maps, maybe it’s the people you play with or lack of playing. The group of people I play with all have the DLC and I see the maps on a somewhat regular basis.

He thought it was a scam because the DLC maps would only be available in a specific matchmaking playlist for a fixed period of time.

And I think those who purchase DLC should always have the option to play it, and not having to look for it match after match.

That’s like saying because you bought the game you should be able to play on your favorite map over and over again. That’s pointless, and you can play on that map whenever your heart desires, it’s called custom games.

There is no fixed period of time, there are factors that go into whether or not a playlist is cut or not. I imagine population is a big factor, if the playlist is popular it was stay around forever. There is no time limit on DLC specific playlists, it’s based on how much the community likes it, and plays it, and a few other factors.

I really don’t see why the would remove the DLC playlist, why not just have a 4V4 playlist that requires all DLC with a mix of objective and slayer. I understand you can play the DLC maps in other play lists but the chances of getting into a game in which everyone owns the map packs is incredible low (I’ve only had it once).

Anyway, if anybody wants to team up to finish up any achievements you have left and help others do the same send me a message on xbox live. My gamer tag is the same as my user name. Me and a friend will be online Sunday (12/08 or 08/12 for Americans) afternoon through to the night. Once everyone’s finished we can try and get some good custom games in if enough people are up for it.

LE is a good way to guarantee your dlc. Not only will every single preorder have dlc, but when they start advertising them around release, then that will be more people having it. I think it’s safe to say that the population will be much greater than reach.

It also depends on how good vanilla halo 4 starts off and playlist management in the beginning. He received heat because he was acting arrogant and boasting his opinion like a fact. I hate when people come in here with an elitist attitude or take jabs at Halo 4 because of reach. Also, opinion is full of biased and overall could’ve been approached better.

What do expect when you tell others, “you are being scammed! I’m telling you what to do with your money.”

> Also, opinion is full of biased and overall could’ve been approached better.

Which is what the OP of this thread is trying to do. Let’s focus on the issue at hand – the value of the Limited Edition preorder – and try not to distract ourselves with commentary on the previous thread.

I’ll agree you could just go play DLC maps in customs, but there are achievements attach to these that can only be obtained in MM, if the achievements were valuable in MM and Customs but on a more specific hard way to achieve them in either setting then there would be no issue like this.

Not sure why there has to be playlist issues surrounding the game to have a dedicated DLC playlist, I mean they could just flip the switch to have most playlists DLC required like Halo 3, at some point 343 will do a bungie and just do one or two more MM updates and then completely ignore the game entirely without updating it and focus on Halo 4

The voting system doesn’t help much when wanting to play Tempest but ends up getting Countdown because of majority vote, why not increase the weight of DLC to show up, or make it dedicated to be first on the voting list if everyone has the DLC for the playlist…
