I <3 Halo. Here are my thoughts on H4.

I talk about one of the things I personally LOVE most in Halo, but is severely broken in Halo 4.

Please read the blog and give me your feedback. it would be much appreciated.

The Golden Triangle of Halo is broken.

Interesting Blog. I can’t say I know what the Halo CE hog was like. I was unable to purchase an xbox at the time. I have to say that you do have a point about the Warthogs. They do seem to be paper thin these days.

To be honest though I think the easiest fix for this problem would be to have those weapons that can disable it, or destroy it placed on the map and to never be an ordnance drop again. At least it would have a better chance of surviving that way. I use the Wheelman perk and still it has a short life.

Bravo!! You just wrote all my thoughts down in your blog. In my opinion the Warthog is one of the most iconic and important things in Halo, and Halo 4 has made it absolutely useless. Big Team Battle is pretty much ruined because of this (of course the DMR and Ordnance are as big reasons why BTB isn’t often worth playing).

I think the plasma pistol, plasma nades and the boltshot should be taken out of the loadout system, the dmr should be nerfed and the carbine should be buffed just a little bit. Then everything would be in perfect balance. (this was a little off-topic, but what the heck)

I agree 100% with your points about what Halo is about, I already knew that Halo wasn’t just about the so called “golden triangle” - melee, grenades, and guns. Your Golden Wheel is a great depiction of the halo sandbox, but I believe one little thing called jumping never gets mentioned. Jumping is, and has always been a very important mechanic to Halo, your Golden Wheel plus adding ‘jumping’, I think, is as perfect as it gets to describing Halo’s multiplayer core. Not that there is anything wrong with jumping in Halo4, there isn’t, but I’m just mentioning that jumping IS a part of the Halo formula, and I never see it get mentioned. Also, I do really like how you put in power-ups in the Golden Wheel, I think you should have mentioned how there not being map power-ups(if map based power-ups is what you are implying)in halo4 also breaks the sandbox - In my opinion simply removing power-ups from ordnance and putting them (1 or 2) on the map should do some justice for this.

Great blog, I really do hope 343i sees it. And thanks for sharing this, it really does speak volumes as a voice for the halo community.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

I have updated the blog with lot’s of new stuff! go take a peek.

Light? The CE Hog was stable and heavy.

It didn’t flip easily. An experienced driver could easily land upright. It often took a well placed frag grenade.

Also, the CE Hog was good for flipping light enemy vehicles. Notice the tusks on the front of the Hog, yeah it’s supposed to do that.

Lastly, who could forget driving a Hog into another Hog? FUN.

A well written blog man good job! I totally agree with it.

I mean seriously there’s no point of getting in ANY vehicle anymore if it’s just gonna get blown up by the amount of guns that can be used to destroy it. They need to do something about this. The only good vehicles in this game that are good for getting quick kills are the Mantis and the Gauss Hog, and maybe the Scorpion tank since its only found on one map and it spawns in a crappy location.

Great blog, I agree wholeheartedly.

Great blog dude! Loved it!

Light enemy vehicles? The hog can flip a scorpion tank in Halo 1 if you drive at the tank head on or ram into backwards going straight.

I find it hilarious that a DMR can kill faster than a warthog machine gun at range. Even the warthog in halo reach had a decent amount of power at distance, with very little bullet spread. In halo 4 they gave the turret bloom. It is useless unless your target is at point blank.

Part 2 of my blog about vehicles is now up.

Part 2 “Ode to the Vehicle” <Link

Please give it a read.
