Wasn’t able to play the flight (thanks 343 for not sending invites to 3080s) but watching gameplay clips makes me wonder where does the Hyrda fit in the sandbox when it is potentially out preformed by all other weapons due to its long reload time, slow fire rate, and requiring 3-4 direct hits due to small splash damage.
I’d suggested increasing damage and lowering direct hits to 2 (on par with Halo 5), it can have the slower rate of fire to differentiate itself from the Cindershot which has far superior tracking and fire rate.
Hydra wasn’t playable in the flight as far as I’m aware, though its model could be viewed in the menus along with others.
So it’s unknown whether it needs balancing changes

People were able to glitch into custom games, which allowed them to use unavailable weapons like the Energy Sword and Hydra. But still, it’s pretty stupid to suggest balance changes to a weapon that not only wasn’t supposed to be accessible, but also didn’t even use.
if 343i was happy with it don’t you think it would’ve been a normal part of the flight?

i agree, the hydra felt really weak when i was using it but i do like the different fire modes. Itd be cool if un tracking one did more damage then the lock on so it values percision.
also everyone, its ok to critique a weapon that wasn’t in a the particular flight. We dont know if it was gonna be the final version or not so why not critique it now? Maybe 343 will see this and change it if they haven’t already.
