There are a plethora of classic maps in the Halo series. If you could introduce say, 5 maps right now, which would you bring in and why?
Guardian
Haven
Ivory Tower
Boarding Action
Truth
I feel like the current maps offer easy evasion, these maps are a little less forgiving to evade encounters & boarding action just sounds like chaotic fun with grappleshots. (★ ω ★)
Turf, Sanctuary, Plaza, Narrows, The Pit.
Imo the only map in Infinite that is good is Aquarius. Streets and Recharge are decent. Bazaar is just meh. Literally any remake of a classic map that was well received would be great.

Yeah, I’m partial to Halo 2’s maps myself, like Zanzibar. Although The pit was fairly well balanced.
Midship was really under-rated. Can’t tell you how many times I would upvote it on Reach and no one else would ![]()
sprint and these new abilities dont work with classic maps, they have to change too many things for them to work and then its not the same anymore. its just nostalgia you like.
I disagree. I would very much like to see how the new abilities would play on a classic map. I don’t see why any changes are necessary to do so. Sprint has been around since Reach anyhow. Incorporating the new features into the classic maps would be a whole new experience. Not really nostalgic at all.
Midship would honestly be my top pick if it wasn’t for Aquarius. The two maps are very similar. A lot of Pro teams have adopted Midship’s call outs for Aquarius. Dynamo spawn being called Car when there is no Carbine. Lol
We’ve already seen classic maps with sprint/other advanced movement. Truth in H5 was very well received. In Sanctuary flag in H5 was very good and that was a forge remake.
I just want a Valhalla/Ragnarok remake

Any of them. Anything not made by 343. Any of them at all.
Preferably, start with CE maps. Grapple would be good on those.

Picking five is a hard ask. But… Tl;Dr in no particular order:
- Damnation
- Waterworks
- Headlong
- The Pit
- Mercy
I’d want at least one from CE. My favorites from that game are probably Blood Gulch, Hang Em High, Battle Creek, Chill Out, and I guess Chiron. But my absolute favorite is probably Damnation, so that is pick one.
I’m partial to Halo 2 maps more than most. Middy, Zanzibar, Coag (the better Blood Gulch), Ascension, Sanctuary, Foundation and Lockout are all great maps, but I for a long time have wanted to see Waterworks updated and entered into the BTB rotation. And because H2 is my favorite list and we need more BTB options, I think Headlong is another good pick.
I didn’t care too much for most of the Halo 3 maps outside of Sandtrap and the handful of remakes, but I think the Pit will blend very well with the Infinite sandbox.
Finally, en lieu of Lockout from H2 and Guardian from H3, I’d love to see another sick iteration of Haven/Mercy from H4/5.
EDIT: I forgot about Reach, but I also didn’t care much for the Reach maps, or much of the H4 maps. And most of H5s best maps were Forge maps.
This was nonsense in Guardians and it’s nonsense in Infinite. Classic maps are awesome with the new mobility.
it was well received because of nostalgia but when you get places faster and places you couldnt before it changes the flow of original map design and balance. even in btb games sprint got rid of a need to use vehicles, people used to defend bases on respawn while they waited to group up and go on the attack in a fresh warthog, that doesnt happen anymore.
The maps will likely play differently with new movement options. Different does not equal bad. I did not play H2 as a kid, so nostalgia wasn’t a factor when I enjoyed Midship/Truth in MCC/H5. Great maps from past titles are going to be great maps in new titles (most likely.)
