I haven’t seen anyone making mention of the helmet that Hyperius is wearing on his head…that looks incredibly similar to a scout helmet…worn by Palmer.

It looks similar, but it’s hard to tell. It’s pretty common for Brutes to wear there kills, but it looks mostly like a slightly altered Bannished helmet. I also think both Palmer and Locke would be a bit tougher to kill. Then again, Atriox nearly destroyed Red team alone…

They’ve said not to take the toylines seriously, although I wouldn’t be surprised if those were to foreshadow the fates of certain characters. I liked Locke and would be devastated if something happened to him. I don’t recall hearing anything about Palmer but she would be an acceptable loss to me.

Best move 343 ever made was kill off Locke and announce it via a toy leak. I forgive them for Halo 5 now.
I might seriously consider lessening my consumption of Halo products if that were the case. Getting real tired of 343 being lazy and killing off characters rather than fix them. Didact’s been in story jail for 8 years, Jul dying was -Yoink-, I’m still livid they killed Black Team, etc. Locke has potential and I never understood the copious amounts of hate he got. At worst, he’s arguably bland, so the intense hatred I’ve seen directed towards him, and Palmer too, is very suspect.

Don’t read into things like this as Locke being killed off
There’s no way what the brute is wearing is a scout helmet. Its way too big, he’d had to break it apart and expand it with extra part. Heck look at it in comparison to the helmet on his shoulder. It also has a jutting jaw on the helmet while the top part is what juts out on scout.

Companies try to cover slip-ups like this all the time. Putting a very unique helmet on one of their enemies is too specific to be meaningless. It’s for the best. Locke had to go and I’m glad he died off instead of retired.

Y’all remember when the Believe campaign for Halo 3 all but told us that Chief would die in that game? The moment where he’s held up over the battlefield and ignites a plasma grenade? All those videos with these old veterans talking about the Chief in the past tense?
Then it turned out after the game came out that the people making those ads had no clue what happened in the game and just did something they thought would get people interested? Lol.
Ske7ch has already debunked this rumor/theory. Doesn’t need to be really discussed more.
