Not going to lie - I took some time off.
Not just for Season 2 but in big part.

I started work a little early today so I can get some play time in before my son gets home from school.
Last Spartan Standing and the story event are my two things I want to check out right away
Lovely stuff. I’ll be playing with my son next two hours but he always goes to sleep the same time, just as the update is due out, perfection.
My son is somewhere 3-5 years away from me being comfortable with him playing Infinite. Probably 6+ years away from the original trilogy too, just because there’s a lot more blood in those ones (not compared to other games, but still).
And I cannot even put into words how pumped I am to run through all the campaigns with him one day. I know it’s going to be near the tip top of all my favourite gaming memories ![]()

I reinstalled the game but I imagine I’ll get sick and frustrated with it again and it’ll be deleted in a couple of weeks, maybe even sooner.
If this happens I’ll send the little one to bed!
Mine went to bed early today, he knew!!
That’s awesome, I’ve been gaming since I was 4. Not planning on starting him that early haha.
It’s hard to know what ages to do stuff, I’d be a slight hypocrite if I police too much considering my parents let me play Mortal Kombat at the ripe old age of 6.
Don’t really understand the ‘hype’. All it seems to be is minor cosmetics that are seemingly mostly restricted behind paywall and possible 2 maps at max. Adding 2 maps and changing some armor doesn’t really change the situation that 343i has put us in and the lack of a progression system hasn’t been forgotten and neither is the claims that 343i made before launch. I know with Halo I should be excited but so far all I’ve had from Infinite is disappointment. All I feel like is it’s just going to repeat the same problems and once people realize this I feel population will quickly drop again.
I’m used to being the person who would get on Halo as soon as I get home for a new game or update for Halo but the thing is with Infinite I did the complete opposite with season 2 of Infinite.
I’m genuinely surprised people care about an exp bar that goes up an inordinate amount every game. Eventually to the point where it takes like 200 games to go up one level.
Never seen the point of it in any game but I also wasn’t someone who prestiged in CoD. Just don’t get it.
Had a blast this evening with Last Spartan Standing. Played a little ranked, sweaty as ever. Didn’t get the new map yet unfortunately. Haven’t played much BTB but I’m going to in the week to try and get some games on the new map. I want to see how it feels in 12 v 12.
King of The Hill is different now, you fill up a meter and then get a point for it. I thought we just stayed in the Hill for as long as we could as it moves or relocates around the map? Roaming King from Halo 5 was fun as hell, I would rather 343 just add old gametypes instead of trying to change things that aren’t even broken. I guess 343 felt the need to change it up for some reason.
I played since the update released today and still have not got the new map; Catalyst. Is it in the rotation yet or is that also coming later on down the road with the other basic Halo features?
Last Spartan Standing is fine when players are actively fighting, but I see players camping in certain locations from time to time and I even find myself hiding or slowing down at certain times or spots to conserve my lives for the final showdown. No radar makes camping even more easier until the wall starts moving in but by then, it’s only two or three players left.
The new BTB map Breaker is awesome. I like it so far and I want to play Slayer and other game types on it to test it out. So far, I’ve only played LSS on it.
Vampireball is super fun! I don’t know why, but I have a blast playing it lol
Grapple Ninjas is pretty fun too, I think the plasma grenades need to be more limited. It can become a grenade fest far too often in some places.
Sniper Shottys isn’t too bad either. I think dynamo grenades need to be removed from that gametype and the equipment needs to be more limited. The Bulldog already gives players a powered up Assault Rifle in their back pocket, we don’t need any more than a Sniper and a Bulldog. I’ve only played this gametype on Behemoth so far, I don’t know if it’s on other maps. Maybe Launch Site too?
It’s still too early for me to judge Season 2 properly. Right now, the new ‘Actionsack-styled’ FFA playlists are my favorites. But now getting to a normal FFA variant is more difficult to find as 343 decided to dump all the FFA gametypes into a single Rumble Pit playlist.
Maybe a roof for ants…
I asked my group if they plan on getting on… Most said next year.
I want to be hyped… But it’s 343 you know.
@Mjilnor I hear you man. I want to be hyped but I’m just not… Some things look interesting and I will check things out… but it’s tough when practically none of your friends are interested in playing. Probably because the majority of my friends don’t have any interest in playing until a lot of things are fixed and there’s a ranked team slayer playlist.
I definitely understand why 343I is trying new game modes and putting a new spin on old ones but I’ve never understood why you wouldn’t have in the modes that you KNOW people love and then introduce new spins on old game modes. It just makes more sense to me.
Heck, you could even have a playlist that is like quick play but is just new game modes or new spins on old game modes and see what people think and if one of them gets really popular maybe gets its own playlist… But what do I know. I’ve only been gaming since the early 80’s and played Halo since first month CE was out ![]()
