Hydra use in warzone

So I’m having trouble using the Hydra in direct applications circumstances. I love the weapon as a stand off fire and forget system, like the ICBM mode (lock on , elevate and fire 2-3 and let them rain down). I just can’t seem to use the weapon effectively in a direct fire mode. the rounds travel pretty slowly and with a bit of a delay. So i’m wondering who’s had success using it as a direct fire system? Do you just empty the mag at your target, is it a jump-and-fire-at-their-feet weapon like traditional rockets. Im open to any feedback.

Always use lock on, it’s terrible without lock on even at close range.

So you just switch to your other weapon for direct fire use, and use hydra as more situational, rather than as primary?

I try to like this weapon as like a rocket but its impossible to get any kills with it when facing someone, I only use this weapon when I see someone in the open.

I love this weapon … whoever, it has it’s Pro’s and Con’s … depending your situation …

Its only good at medium to long range. If they are close switch weapons.

So consensus is that it’s only useful as a standoff weapon, and not to bother using in direct application. Thanks for the input folks.

Lock on is the only efficient way to get kills with it, I normally fire 2 - 3 shots depending on range.
