Is it me or does the Hydra feel extremely weak?

because i reply, i rank up in halowaypoint, what.
just have to aim down the sight

If you scope in, it will lock on. I think it should lock on faster however.

Yeah it’s pretty disappointing to use, especially if you waste req points for it in warzone, I’m usually gunned down by the time the seeking-explosives hit the target (and it takes a bunch). It was also pretty underwhelming in Campaign, considering it was a power weapon.

Maybe there’s a special variant with a bit more damage, but I haven’t seen one yet.

A+ In campaign
D In Multiplayer

After getting a lock-on, aim up and shoot 3 or 4 rockets. If you do it fast enough you won’t lose your lock-on and the rockets will rain down on your target from above.

It feels like a marshmallow cannon. In Slayer, I dumped a full chamber at someone 3 feet away and he didn’t even flinch.

Even with lock-on, it is very underwhelming. Its pretty much luck of the draw if it will actually kill the person you’re shooting at (it seems it chooses when it actually wants to track the target or just go off and away) Also with de-scope it just makes it pointless to use when you’re under-fire

All I could want is a faster lock on. I went beast mode with this thing in three games in a row this morning. It does have a weakness though. If they get in close before you can scope it, you’re done. The melee is slow, I mean really slow and I think that’s fair given you have a heavy weapon. I need more ammo for it hah.

I notice I miss a lot when guys can use walls to shield themselves from the blasts and I think that’s fair. In an open map though this thing is really good. Yeah with de-scope it is trash. If you can scope it though and you have the opposing team out in the open, it’s boss.

I’ve tried using it a few times and always struggle with it.

yea it’s super weak if I see an enemy using one I’m not worried but the plasma caster is the same

It’s terrible. Shouldn’t cost as many Req levels as it does in Warzone. I will say that it is good against the flying bosses in Warzone.

Exactly, I blasted someone four times, they shot me twice and I died!.
Out of all the halo games, never have i felt less like a super soldier, and more like an armor less regular old joe player.

nope, its actually kinda OP if you know how to use it…
Don’t shoot straight, lock on and curl your shorts by looking to the side and up, curl shots around cover etc.
it only takes two rockets for a kill

its a very skill based power weapon
the only thing is that it is not good enough for that reload time,

I find that in games such as breakout it is nearly impossible to use the hydra in a 1 on 1 situation. Extremely effective if you can flank the enemy team with it. I personally avoid using it if possible, but I notice when it gets down to a last man 1 on 1 scenario, any person who has it immediately equipped is done for. I definitely think it’s a decent power weapon, but it has a limitation on skill to use it effectively, i.e. when and how to use it.

Hold on one digity damn minute. The Hydra when locked on is a yoinking monster. If you are talking about the unscoped Hydra then I will agree with you that it is under powered but then again it isn’t really useful as a close range weapon.
