How would people feel if there was a Halo Wars League?
I would love to start one since there are many players that are skilled and love this game.
Imagine a site that has a W/L ratio from held tournaments and people being rewarded from being top of the Tournaments and League leaderboard. It would make the HW competitive side a much of an increase. I believe HW is the best RTS on the 360.
I cant create the league myself though. I would greatly need help with this.
If you are interested in helping me with this let me know. First I wanna see how many people are interested in joining this League.
I have a couple questions first.
If the league was started, would any leader be restricted due to them being OP?
I dont believe any leader is OP. Just taking a vote
Also, which should be in the League?
Singles? Doubles? Trips?
I believe it should only be Singles and/or Doubles. I want to get an overall vote though.
It would help having all the support I can get.

I know this is a weird question but, who would like 1v1’s on 2v2 maps?
Docks, Terminal Moraine and Beasleys Plateau
Ban Chasms and Release? Blood Gulch is debatable too.
Really think about it, dont just come to a conclusion.
Im thinking of it in a bit of a Starcraft matter.
Expanding would be a bit better, do to free bases.
We would be enabling “Juking” by taking a base then canceling to make it remain off the rader for sneaky expansions so it makes it so players must scout more then just a couple times a game. Instead, scouting the entire game to win. Which increases micro management. More thinking and it can control a new Skill Gap for players In 1v1 and add a new element and interest to the game.
Edit
Almost forgot, also rushes/early attacks would be a bit more difficult and if they fail, expansions can actually be processed. In 1v1 Chasms, you can defend a rush… Then what? Get the forerunner? Then Turtle some more? Instead, the 2v2 maps allow for more options in game. (Chasms rush I was thinking of a Covenant vs UNSC.)

the docks would be the worst 1v1 map ever. Covy is really underpowered. Just think about how overpowered anders/cutter are on pirth outskirts against covy. Also keep chasms and blood gulch cause those maps require hook control which makes games more fun and you need more skill for it. If you are going to ban a 1v1 map ban either release or tundra (not both) and pirth outskirts.

After Halo Wars was removed from Gamebattles, Lazy Frog created a league called Lazy Battles. It was active for around a week, then died. I think that would happen with any new league because of the limited amount of competitive people that still play this game.
As for your 1v1 on 2v2 maps idea, it’s been done before. Juicebox started the Ultimate Halo Wars League (UHL). On Saturdays, he would pick a few high level players and have them 1v1 on 2v2 maps or 2v2 on 3v3 maps and livestream the games with commentary. Obviously, he picked the bigger maps so he could watch the game since Halo Wars doesn’t allow spectators. You can watch those videos here: http://www.youtube.com/UHLeague . If you are looking for maps which prove the most amount of skill, then 1v1 maps are a lot better than 2v2 maps and 3v3 maps. They have a lot more hooks on them, and all leaders can be used. If you played 1v1 on a 2v2 or 3v3 map, the covenant is at a disadvantage because the maps are so big.
I didnt know they made any leagues. I played gb the first couple seasons. When the Prophet was OP and moved way too fast.
Ever since that went off the circuit I didnt see any other leagues. I know theres alot of people that still play HW, but I wannt have tournaments and seasons and pay the great players for there standing. I doubt any league has done that. I want Halo Wars to get bigger. I dont feel covy will have a disadvantage. They might have to change there strats due to new maps and have different playstyles now. I understand Docks they might have a slight disadvantage, but there are ways to counter the fast expansions. They can get countered pretty easily. Also, everyone knows Anders/Chieftain are probably the best 1v1 players overall. Well the map changes may change that. It is something that must be tested, but the disadvantage tab isnt a big difference. Every Leader has there best maps. Every map has a Leader that has an advantage against other players. But, its not an auto win for that leader. Every Leader has a chance to beat any Leader.
definitely ban pirth. I’d also like release to be removed because I find tundra to be more…well more. not that I play 1’s much.
to put my opinion on the covie disadvantage on 2v2 3v3 map debate. 3v3 maps are big yes, but covie still have a good sporting chance on exile and fort deen. frozen is far to big for covie, and so is glacial. 2v2 maps are fine in my eyes. docks is balanced and covie can just rush the UNSC expansion; cutter can be difficult to put down but if you go for hard building damage units(brutes, sg’s, grunts) you should be able to ruin his expo with good teamwork. beasley’s plateau is anyone’s game really.
I think labyrinth is a no no. cheap -Yoink- protector rushing is the low point of that map; even though we’ve all done it at some point. plus shield hogs are just so anti-covie.
Sounds good to me. Halo Wars’ small, loyal community needs to stand strong. Show our love for the game. Maybe that’ll convince 343 to make (or get a company) to make a Halo Wars 2.

If it’s a 1v1 on a 2v2 map with nobody else in the game, then every map is a fast expand map. Cutter and Anders would get instant expos, which gives them a huge advantage vs Prophet and Brute. Hogs and/or flamers should be enough to kill off any rush they try to do. Arbiter can expand himself which gives him a decent chance, but if he expands and the UNSC decides to go early hogs instead, it’s an auto loss for Arby. Crevice, Beasleys, and Labyrinth would be nearly unwinnable for covie. Docks, Terminal, and Repository would be their best chance since they aren’t great gauss maps, but UNSC still shouldn’t lose.
You’re talking like you know how every game comes out. There will be ways for covy to win, same as there will be ways UNSC will win. Depends on whats happening in the game. You cant automatically know how everything goes down. The only 2v2 maps I wanted was: Docks, Terminal and Beasleys. So far I feel they are pretty well for many leaders. Like I stated, new strats and openings for the 2v2 maps. Wont be the same as the 1v1 maps.

I’ve played enough Halo Wars to know the different builds each side could do to win. Sure, if you have a 30 TS Anders playing a 40 TS Prophet on Beasleys, the Prophet probably would win. I’m not saying it’s impossible for the covenant to win, but UNSC should win a large majority of the time mainly because of the size of the maps and free expos. Beasley’s Plateau is the best 2v2 map for gauss and UNSC could pelican glitch on Terminal. Docks would be the covie’s best chance because of the narrow choke in the middle, but it would still be tough to stop the expo.
That makes sense that they have a higher chance in winning. But anything can happrn. People can make mistakes and a player can capitolize on it. If some did pelican ‘glitch’ on terminal, its a waste of 200 and a player can take advantage of that on the covy side. Like I said, things would change due yo the dubz maps being in. New things would come.

Actually, doing the pelican glitch probably wouldn’t even be necessary. Since Cutter and Anders could make an extra hog, they basically get 1 side automatically and they have a 50/50 chance of the getting the other side. So a 50/50 chance of an auto win is pretty good. Not to mention all the extra crates UNSC can get with multiple hogs…Playing on 2v2 maps is different, I’m not going to argue with that. But it sure would benefit UNSC more than covie, so it makes some leaders even more imbalanced. I’m all for some type of league or tournament, I just don’t know if doing it on 2v2 maps is the best idea.
The warthog matter does make a bit of sense. But who knows, maybe ghost starts may happen on Terminal due to the split. Allowing them to attack and get placement, they could have 3 total ghosts before the bridges come up. Never tried it, just a thought. like I said, new strats. I do also inderstand ur point though. Maybe we will do Leader switches for each map? I havent thought of it yet. Either pick 1 leader for the tournament or switch whatever map. Undecided. That might help the unfairness a bit, but you never know how the match will turn out. Maybe PM scrims would help a bit. If everyone is in favor of a certain change, then I would most certainly do so. Lets just give it a chance and see what happens.

Alright, go for it. By the way, what’s your gamertag (or original gamertag)? I searched for “KatyPerryAdikar” on the stats page, but nothing came up.
