With HWC being the go to competitive playlist for Pro settings, I feel that there really is no need for Team Arena to stick around. At this point it is just splitting the existing population into to similar playlist. which is bad for the population overall and in HWC has severely affected matchmaking and the overall fun factor of the playlist.
I completely agree. Personally, I think Slayer might make the better choice to cut. Let Arena stay with Slayer, and I would even suggest leaving Oddball or Bomb in it too in order to separate it more from HCS. And I would replace the axe’d playlist with ranked Throwback as a permanent playlist.
I would even mix in Extermination with Breakout. I love that playlist but just can’t get into them without a rank (goes for Throwback too).
I’m on the fence about this subject. While I understand HCS settings are the go-to for Pro-Settings, I still more so enjoy playing Halo 5’s objective game modes in Team Arena with it’s default settings in place. Removing the Team Arena playlist isn’t going to entice me to play the HCS playlist any more than I even do now.
I wouldn’t mind TA being removed if they replaced it with Team Objective. But we have to have modes that people don’t have to sweat super hard in to get higher than silver.

Or better yet, tone down or remove Slayer from Team Arena and then it’ll be where it should be.

That’d be a great idea. Even though if they toned it down I’d still get cursed by RNG to play slayer anyway xD
Menke said awhile back that they were planning on merging the Team Arena and HWC playlists, but he didn’t give a date. Most likely to happen sometime after world’s in April and before the new season.
Just remove slayer from TA playlist add in assault and oddball and it becomes very different from HWC we have ben asking for this for ages having slayer in this type when it already has its own list is just stupid
