Just to be clear, I did search this topic on the forums. I only found a few sparse threads that were narrowly focused on things such as specific countries or stores. If I missed something like a thread like this one that has full discussions and participation, please let me know and direct me there. Thank you in advance. If such a thread is out there, feel free to lock this one. I am currently unaware of a thread on this topic with a wider focus.
Now that I have that out of the way…
Ever since Halo Wars 2 was announced, I was hoping for some sort of limited or collector’s edition. When the Ultimate Edition was announced, I looked into it and have been planning on getting it. But when I saw on the Xbox store that it was available for pre-order digitally, I started looking around for a physical option. I did not find one on that site, so I looked around at others. When the others did finally list the game, they listed vague pages without much information on anything, let alone pre-ordering.
I would like for this thread to be more open and broad on this topic, so post anything related to it that you would like.
So, I have some questions that can open this thread up for discussion (but feel free to come up with your own).
Is the Ultimate Edition digital only? If so, does anyone have any idea why?
If there is going to be a physical copy, when (if not already—I could have missed it) do you think it could be announced? If so, what physical bonuses (either in all copies, or store-exclusives) would you like, if they have any?
Could the fans cause them to make physical copies? If so, how might this happen?
These are just a few of my thoughts on this topic. I would like for you all to add your own and discuss them.
If I have missed something, either obvious or not, please let me know. I understand that I am not the only person who is interested in this topic, so posting anything one way or another would help us all. If you do post something that could help us, feel free to elaborate on it or discuss it with others.
Again, if I missed a thread with a wider focus like this one, please direct me to it. I would really like to discuss this issue with those people.
I may add some more of my thoughts to this post, especially if this thread goes well. I do plan on participating with any discussion that arises on this thread.

If there is an physical copy of ultimate edition, it might be announced as we get closer to launch. If there isn’t a physical copy, I can understand why. Microsoft is really pushing play anywhere, which is only available for digital copies.

I personally hope that there is one announced at some point, but I can live with it if it is indeed digital only.
I can understand the concept of play anywhere, but I hope that it does not become the only option.
As for my plans though, I am hoping for a physical copy, but if there is only digital for the Ultimate Edition (even if there is a physical copy for the regular edition), I will most likely get the Ultimate Edition. Having more content available is more important to me than worrying over a physical copy.
There is a physical ultimate edition here in Australia.
Doesn’t have anything the digital version doesn’t have though.

I have seen it in my country on sites such as the one you posted, but the information is either missing or vague.
I hope that it becomes clearer as time goes by, especially if a physical copy is announced soon.
I do not really expect a physical copy to come with much (if anything) more than the digital version though. I would like it if the physical copy did of course.
Hmmm… Retailers such as Best Buy and GameStop don’t label it as digital, but a steelbook wouldn’t be so bad though.
It would make a significant difference if the Halo Wars 2 physical Ultimate Edition included character documents & extra goodies as well.

I would love it if we got some “extra goodies” in the physical copies from specific retailers, but I am not sure I can see that happening.

And as for a steelbook, as long as I can get my disc out without harming it, then a steelbook is fine with me!
I’m pretty sure I can order a physical copy via amazon here in the US. My real question is will there be a Collector’s Edition with a Statue of Red Team or the SoF. Only reason I haven’t pre-ordered yet. Otherwise I’m getting the Ultimate Edition digitally for the play anywhere and remastered HW
I think there will be a collectors edition or something. Not sure if everyone has seen this but pictures of a very convincing Halo Wars 2 Atriox Bust Prototype surfaced early this year. Nothing has been confirmed but I REALLY REALLY hope that it turns out to be what comes in the collectors edition
If there is a collector’s edition, I may consider buying it.
The collector’s editions in the past have been a bit too much for me, but if this one is worth it, I may get it.
I remember that Atriox bust, and I felt that it would be an interesting thing to own. I would be fine if that were released in some sort of collector’s edition.
Also, regarding the HW1 Remastered edition, if it is indeed for the digital copy only, I will probably still go for the digital copy. If not, (which I personally hope), I will most likely pre-order the hopeful physical ultimate edition closer to launch, when I hope that some pre-order bonuses and/or collector’s edition are announced.
My problem is not knowing whether to preorder the master edition for xbone(I will be playing on PC). Play anywhere has only been touched on and I can’t find a preorder for windows 10 anywhere so RIP

Yes, a steelbook does sound like a cool pre-order bonus. I like the case-thing that my Halo 5 Limited Edition came in, so I feel that things such as special cases are nice.
Of course I would also like more pre-order bonuses. Perhaps things like lore-based information things? I always have liked those in the past.
I 've started getting most games I want on release via pre order. Purely because I want to be able to pre install it as I have a terrible internet connection and hate waiting to play on games.

Hm… I received my Halo 5 steelbook w/ the console bundle. ):
I’m actually glad that I don’t have the disc with it due to its overall clunkiness. It bares a resemblance to the Halo 4 Limited Edition which is actually one of my favorites so far.

Now that is something with which I can be fine.
I like that sort of thing a good amount. I would most likely get that Collector’s Edition.
They might release a bigger version with a couple physical bonuses.
