I’d like to be able to share my feedback on the game, but unfortunately the game is broken and unplayable…not unplayable because its crap, but unplayable because it simply doesn’t load.
I played a few games of Domination during the week, got the 3GB update and downloaded the numerous game configuration updates, but I’ve been unable to get past the title screen or tutorial since Thursday. This is quite simply a pathetic joke.
I’ve read numerous threads with others having the same problem but besides being “patient”, hard resetting the console, and trying over and over again to get into the game, but it quite simply doesn’t work.
This is supposed to be a Beta so the very least we can expect is for the actual game to work rather than wasting hours of our time downloading updates, latest configs and trying to get into the game.
I also repeatedly tried for approx 2 hours today (which included downloading yet another config update) and attempted numerous ways of trying to “trick” the game to work but it failed time after time.
I have now deleted the beta and won’t be wasting my time downloading again. This experience has also made my decision not to buy at launch (along with other players that I know have been unable to play the beta).
I managed to play about 13 games of Domination before the update but it hasn’t worked since. Completely pathetic and incompetent for a beta to be released with so many basic bugs that prevent players from actually playing it.
I’m sorry but it’s a beta and I’ve been one of the lucky few to play without crashes and issues, but you wasting space and time about non constructive criticism isn’t going to help
I guess I should be grateful for you wasting your time and space to tell me that it’s a beta, and that my constructive post stating that the game has a major bug because it doesn’t load at all is in fact non-constructive. Thanks Maggot.

Pretty sure it’s not a waste of time to post a comment saying he’s unable to get into the game. That’s the sort of feedback they need to know.

It was just a sarcastic comment referring to the predictable posts that it’s a beta and how we shouldn’t be “entitled” to have a game that actually works. Far too many ppl throw the word “entitled” around on Waypoint as if we should be grateful for games that don’t work as they should or content that should be part of day one release. Anyways, thats a debate for another day in a different thread.
I haven’t uninstalled and downloaded again. It took approx 5 hours to download the 13GB for this beta on my internet (approx 3.5MB download) and having wasted many hours trying to get it to work, then I’m not feeling like doing it again…however I’m about to go out for a few hours so may give it another chance.
Is your username referring to Birmingham, Everton or Chelsea?
One trick I use is to clear the cache from my xbox by doing a hard reset. You can do this by holding down the power button on your xbox for 5 seconds or until it shuts off.
The second trick I use is to always wait 5 seconds before pushing start, then another 5 seconds before pushing B to skip the tutorial. These tricks have solved the freezing menu problem for me. I hope this helps.
I know how you feel, but it’s not broken for everyone. The reason for this beta is to find what bugs there are by letting a large number of people play it. I get stuck on the “Waiting for players…” screen a lot. Just close the game and restart it until it works. I do it four or five times before I get into a game. Maybe try putting this on the bug report thread (they do actually read it). That’s why the game is slowly getting better.

Yeah, it’s probably worth one more try, it’ll be a shame if you don’t get to play it at all.
Update: reinstalled the game but after downloading the latest config files (again) the problem still persists and fails to load after numerous attempts. This is not a user error…this result is a direct consequence of a complete and utter piss poor development, programming and implementation. Complete bunch of pathetic amateurs masquerading as professional games developers. I have lost all confidence in this brand, the games developers associated to it and will no longer be buying any games that carry their name on release.

343 or Creative Assembly?
Because 343 aren’t developing it, they are just overseeing it.
And also it is just a beta.
Being stuck in a never ending cycle of restarting the game, downloading the latest update, restarting the game and being stuck at the title screen or tutorial isn’t my idea of a fun gaming experience. Is this some kind of new mental agility game? What are the rules? What are the controls? Please let us know because there must be more to a 13GB download than this…or could it just be that Microsoft, 343i and Creative Assembly are actually just -Yoink- at their jobs?

Both.
Your point being? If 343i are overseeing and actively promoting it, then they are jointly responsible for its failure.
Oh here comes another “it is just a beta” sheep…what is the point of a beta if it doesn’t work for hundreds (potentially thousands) of gamers that are actually trying to play it? For all the ppl that have spent hours downloading and trying to get this “beta” to work, please at least try to give a little more imaginative and constructive justification for a game that can’t get past the title screen or tutorial other than “it is just a beta”.
