Just turned on my Xbox One and there’s an automatic update of 29.37gb for Halo Wars 2? What is this, and why is there no information on it? This must be a new thing because there wasn’t any update 12 hours ago last night… It’s on pause until further notice

I have looked at it. I’ve already downloaded that update when it went live 2 days ago. This is something different. There wasn’t any cancel option at all, just pause or uninstall. Uninstall says it will remove the game entirely. This wasn’t the case for the patch which came up as pause and cancel.
i also have a 29gig update! What the hell. This will take me days to download

Right now, to me this isn’t a big thing. 29gb is easily downloaded on my internet plan. But if this thing is truly a bug because of some corrupted data and it’s wide spread, it should be addressed quickly.
This happened to me when kisano was released. I downloaded her then i had to redownload the whole fn game.
I’m also in the same boat. I loaded up the game and it prompted me with a 700mb update. I started installing it, but it wasn’t installing it just stayed at “updating”. Figured it was stuck, so I hard reset my Xbox.
When started up my it said the update was the full game…30gb. Figured it was my external hard drive messing up, but I’m glad to see it’s not. I’ve also noticed that some of my other games haven’t loaded up as quickly either, so it’s probably an xbl services bs. Thanks Xbox.
So what do we do because I have the same issue and I dont have space for this update
A buddy of mine said jt was only a 700mb update so why am I getting 29.37 gb

Guys, don’t know if it the same for you. but sometimes it says the update is that big but indeed is not that big. When I go to download manager I can see how the percent of download increases a lot in few secs.

I’m at 4.5gb of 29gb after 30mins. It is definitely 29gb. There doesn’t seem to be anyway out of it either. Xbox literally uninstalled our game for a 700mb update. There doesn’t seem to be any solution other than to just deal with it.

Ya im currently at 64% I am also having to download the whole game. It is most definately 29 gigs. No way out of it like you said. Aggravating.
Good luck with that guys! Hopefully it will be better in this way. For me was just a 754 file.

You should’ve let it run through. I know others that had it take a few minutes to go from updating to an actual % of progress, but it went through.
Yea, I actually had the same issue around the time the new leader DLC came out. I have a very fast internet connection and it took well over 30 minutes, so the downloaded was certainly much larger than 750ish MBs.
Two of my friends had no issue, but I did for some reason. Very weird.

Xbox always on feature is what you need. Went to sleep and the update was done. Checked my usage and there was a 17.7GB usage when I was asleep, probable more in the hours before that I cannot see the usage for.
