HW1/Classic Vehicles

The two new Brutes are/were the perfect opportunity to add the Vampire, Prowler, Spectre, etc.

Discuss

Well, they left out many good UNSC toys too, I also wouldn’t consider Prowler and Spectre to be classic as they were a one game only… The Marauders seems to be an equivalent to them anyway.

Prowler and Spectre were essentially the same, the difference is the Spectre looked cooler.

Marauder is like a Revenant with two extra seats

Revenant was also some kind of equivalent to the Warthog, Covies simply fail to stick to one model.

A real shame, ain’t it?

Yup, they get so much stuff for the same purpouse, Wraith Invader might be similar to a Shadow (minus the Ghost carrier)

The spectre has to be the ugliest of all the covie vehicles. The revenant was much better. But still, we got the Marauder which is almost the same but slower. I can’t say I miss the Vampire either.

I think that would’ve been a forced factor into an otherwise inspired pair of Brute Leaders.

I’ve said this a few times on other forums, I really don’t think that every new leader is an opportunity to bring back old, because there’s got to be a reasonable thing to back it up.
That’s like Bringing the Elephant back with Kinsano, it doesn’t play at all to her concept of aggressive and offensive Heat.
A Jackal leader could bring back jackals, AND Vampires, mostly because that is a vehicle you would never expected a brute to brandish, plus, Jackals are seasoned veteran’s to the covenant’s reign and could potentially have access and storage to a slew of pre-StormCovenant technology!

Giving Voridus the Vampire would just be a silly practice, UNLESS you make it so that this vampire seeks and splatters air targets using Voridus’s Infusion lazers.
Would that be the Vampire you wanted though?
I don’t think there’s an answer unless they make a slew of new leaders that have their concepts based off those units, even as simple as just making a leader power that boosts them, like for Johnson’s Mech Overcharge.

If they had a hero that 343 just threw them the vampire, would that solve the problem?

Yes it’s a good suggestion, but I don’t think Pavium the Stronghold Vanguard, and Voridus the Miasma of Plasma would be the “Perfect” opportunities to bring back The Spectre, or the Vampire.
It’s a good idea, don’t get me wrong! Just needs more discussion.

That version of the Vampire actually sounds awesome, even if it was a rhetorical suggestion. MORE LASERS 343!

Can we get Laser Hog next? Or maybe Honor Guard Brutes [I mean, Halo 2 had Brutes that dropped their spears so they could head butt you. Why not use the spears?]

The only HW1 vehicle i noticed missing from the UNSC side is the Hawk super unit. Pretty sure i’m missing something else for the UNSC. Can’t think of it off the top of my head.

Vampires were gamebreaking. Add them to HW 2 and I stage a one-man strike. Don’t know how many times I’ve said this. It’s bad enough that Banshees have an AA upgrade.

I’m giving you advanced warning I’m using these titles all the time

The Elephant and Cobra are the only one missing as of right now (and as far as I know.) The thing is, though, the new base design serves, from a lore perspective, the same purpose the Elephant served, and now they have Kodiaks and Colosus to replace the Cobra.

ALL I ever wanted were Hawks. Serina was the perfect time to do that, but they let me down. Now I don’t care anymore. I really wanted an air-based hero unit too.

I miss the Hawks, too. I dream of the day we have every iteration of the UNSC’s close air support available to us (Hornets, Hawks, Wasps and Falcons)

Dude I’d take spectre over revenant, or even ghost any day of the week.

Over them, I’d take a shadow though lol. Though, the wraith invader pretty much is a shadow.

I know it was rhetorical but I kind’ve backed out for a second on my own suggestion because, you know, that could actually work in a way that introduces the vampire, but not as the vampire we remembered, rather using Voridus’ new mechanic to introduce creativity towards his abilities that already don’t allow him to hit air units!
Also, it’d be cool to get some more lasers, especially if they can make them look as cool as the Skitterer’s beam.

Over the top titles for the win! Hahahaha!
Over-exaggerated Adjectives are my specialty, use as you please!

Oh also!
Cars and Cameras, I know it was a -Yoink!- monster in Halo Wars 1, but would there be a way to re-implement it without making it as terrible as it was before?
I mentioned that they could merge the Vampire with Voridus and make it use a laser type slime turret, or something along those lines, maybe with infused needles or something.

Could that, or any other method, equal a balanced vehicle for this game, and a callback everyone else has been pleading for eons, along with Hawks, Elephants, and Cobras?

As long as it’s an anti-air air unit, it’s not something I would want put into the game. It’s not as bad in HW 2 because everyone has access to vehicular anti-air as well, but with that being the case I don’t see a reason for adding them as they’d be outclassed. If it was an entirely different unit with the only similarity being the name and design, that would be okay. But I take it that that’s not what people want.
