Huragok Equipment

A deployable Huragok that will repair a vehicle. Time to repair is relative to the condition of the vehicle. The type of vehicle also influences repair time. A damaged Wraith would take longer to repair then a damaged Mongoose. Huragok is vulnerable while working. Small arms fire will kill it.

I doubt this will ever happen. I am not saying it is a bad idea. It’s just that the community will never give it a chance. Personally, I would find it interesting. A constructor would fit the job much better. Constructors were created by the Forerunners to repair damaged structures. As an added bonus, they are extremely small, similar in size to the Auto Turret featured in Halo 3’s campaign.

Keeping a Huragok in you back pocket seems kinda…unsettling. Personally I’d prefer a mechanical drone of some kind, but I’m all for being able to repair vehicles.

Watch those tentacles buddy! Lmao.

do you know how big those things are?

> do you know how big those things are?

No I don’t know what size a fictional creature from a video game is. Maybe it hangs on to Chiefs shoulders with it’s tentacles and lies there like a slimy backpack before you use it.

Exactly. A Constructor would fit the bill much more nicely.

they’re almost as big as humans
so if you have one hanging off of your back, you’d be a REALLY big target
not to mention slower as well

Maybe you have an immature Huragok that has not reached full size yet. Maybe its a Creator like another poster suggested. What it does is what’s important, not how it is explained.

This sounds pretty fair, also the size should be reduced and not as big as the ones in ODST.

Maybe equipment that calls them in, instead of some ridiculous idea like carrying them like backpacks?

Remote-controlled Engineer bomb.

You may as well control a Monitor that shoots a Spartan Laser out of his face then. Takes more skill and looks cooler.

But… explosions!

I think it would be a nice idea because its always great to have all of your team covering each other instead of one repairing the vehicle and others need help but cant, they would have the great opportunity to have a Huragok or a drone to repair it and all helping each other.
Nice idea

Good point. How bout after a certain amount of time the Monitor becomes aware that he has been hacked/hijacked and initiates a self destruct sequence on himself that will allow you to kamikaze him into someone if you time it right. It also functions to regulate the time players can spend as the Monitor.

Assuming that equipment does come back, I would actually like to see an idea similar to this appear in the game. Although, like others have said, it would make more sense if it were a Sentinel Constructor rather than an Engineer. Then again, we’re talking about a game where a guy stuffs 8 rockets and 300 rounds of ammo in his pockets as well as 4 grenades, so maybe an Engineer wouldn’t be so far fetched…

You wouldn’t be any slower. Huragok are extremely light, you’re a super strong Spartan. There weight would not slow you down.

To be honest, I don’t care what the thing actually is. I just like the idea of the mini game of defending the Huragok for a certain amount of time while repairs are made.
