The finger of blame has been pointed at Linda, who parades about with them taped to her helmet, like heinous trophies. I am inclined to believe these accusations, and believe that the story runs much deeper…
As we have seen in Hunt the Truth, ONI has invested in a variety of cutting edge technologies as of late, ranging from OPST, (Ominous Paving Stone Technology) some method of silencing birds, the world’s most awkward chairs, and a tablet game so addictive that their own employees cannot shake the habit, walking down halls, swiping away. It is my belief that ONI has also developed a cutting-edge scope, one that was stolen by Linda years ago, while John was on the Cairo, and Fred and Kelly reported to ONI about the Unyielding Heirophant. ONI then spent five years attempting to track down this scope, eventually tracing it to Linda.
This is where Locke and his team come in. With a journalist employed to unwittingly spread rumours about the Spartan-II program, corrupting their legendary image and making the public more accepting, ONI sends Locke to Sanghelios, where Linda is believed to have gone, telling the local Kaidon that they’re after the Chief to prevent him learning about the awesome power of the scope.
From here, anything could happen. Please, tell me I’m wrong.
