Hunters

Alrighty, so I’ve played some campaign and one thing that I’ve noticed is… The hunters are not your average Hunters… They are OP as -Yoink-. Anyone else noticing the difference in the covenant abilities, and their overall strength? Legendary difficulty anyways…

Yes, I really like the updates to the covenant - they balance nicely with other enemies in the game and provide a really nice challenge. I’ve always loved fighting hunters, I think they are tough this time around!

I love how brutal they finally are. It’s terrifying going up against one; two is a nightmare. It gets exciting and makes you panic when trying to find the best way to take them out, and you have to use the Spartan Abilities at the best possible windows in order to properly attack or defend. I died four times on Normal to the first pair you meet.

I’m glad they did this with the Promethians too, promoting the Knights to a mini-boss status and having the Soldiers fill their original role.

Still die to sniper shots to the back

The hunters are definitely a formidable foe this time around, especially with their new ability to rapid-fire their fuel rod cannon. They aren’t as easy to kill as in previous Halos.

Legendary, I was playing normal and i could tell there’s a big difference. To be honest you don’t have massive RPG’s and Lasers on the first few missions to kill them lol

Love it. Finally hunters as they were in books. They even bat away Rockets abd grenades with thier shield.

It’s definitely crazy how much they’ve changed. I think I like it for the most part lol

Hunters were a fun little mini boss. Here’s the weakest to strongest hunters in the game.

  • Halo: Combat Evolved- This game has the weakest hunters. They are slow, and don’t really use their cannon often. Not only that, but they die in 1 pistol shot to the back! You don’t even need a pistol, with Halo 1’s amazing weapon sandbox, this is why CE hunters are the weakest. - Halo 3: Ah, Halo 3. Loved by many people because of having an amazing campaign, amazing multiplayer and not too hard AI to fight. Apparently, Hunters are super weak too. While it doesn’t take 1 bullet from something to kill it, they are still pretty damn weak. Grenades and Brute shots are especially good. But even precision weapons are fine, too. - Halo 2: To all of you Halo 2 veterans, I am sorry if I offend you by putting Halo 2 hunters this low. But really, these guys aren’t too strong either. They aren’t too accurate with their laser beam of death and have slow reaction time. But another reason is that in Halo 2, you don’t fight Hunters that much. Because you play as Arbiter half the time and the Hunters side with you. Even when the Elites threw the rebellion, Hunters decided to side with you. And when you do fight them, they are plenty of heavy weapons just lyin’ around - Halo 4: Hunters were changed a little bit. Sure they look the same, but instead of having a laser beam, it shoots little fuel rod cannon shots. These can be sooooo annoying. And unlike the rest of the Covenant in halo 4, Hunters are pretty smart and will corner you almost every time. I say corners because when you usually fight these dudes, they are indoors in a small space! Now Hunters are getting a bit harder. - Halo 3: ODST: Like always, Halo 3 ODST’s hunters are basically the same as 3’s. But now, they’re is something new: the Golden hunter. These things have incredible range and accuracy with their beam and it only takes a few seconds to kill you. Plus, you’re not as agile as agile and strong as a spartan because in this game, you’re just an ODST (Well, not JUST an ODST, they’re boss). So try to find cover and you will win. - Halo: Reach: Hunters in this game are extremely strong. Now, they have so much health and melee damage that you will die even before it finishes it’s animation. Not only that, but they are accompanied by other enemies, like Grunts and Skirmishers. Also, you’re not some powerful Spartan 2 or Supreme Commander, you are a Spartan 3 who has to do with recoiling guns, fall damage and health. Poor Noble 6… - Halo 5 Guardians: Halo 5 has the strongest hunters. Now, it fires little tracking bolts that can kill you in 2 bursts And also has that little fuel rod cannon from Halo 4. But this time, they never miss! Plus, they have huge awareness of the player even if you tap them in the back. They just throw their weight on you and there, now you dead. What’s even more annoying is when one Hunter kills you, your teammates go in to revive you. But they get picked off one by one. Also in Halo 5, they have this new thing I like to call Berserk mode. If one hunter is killed, they smack the ground and roar. Then they become more aggressive with the fuel rod and just run at you like Jason. So there you have it.
