I think Halo 4 is just the name of the toy line.
Could be possible…
It would be odd to have a Halo game without Covenant somewhere.
I think Halo 4 is just the brand and not a clear indicator of what will be in the game. I could point to the Star Wars figures that do a similar stunt.
Of course the Covenant is back…it just has to be…
i hope they are not an enemy, that would be a bad sign

Maybe they will appear in Halo 4 not as the covenant but as the individual client species, perhaps as allies or enemies or neutral, either way Halo wouldn’t be Halo w/o the “Covenant”
I would like Hunters to return, of course I may be bias because Hunter’s are my favorite Covenant species.

We know the Covenant is broken and in disarray, but do we know that it is completely gone and cannot rebuild?

Yes.
The Prophets vanished, all 1000 of them. The Brutes are fighting the Elites AND themselves in a civil war. The Jackals became traders and pirates for anyone. The Drones acted as engineers for Brute ships and probably split with them causing a civil war amongst themselves.
There goes the main bulk of the Loyalists.
It’s just a toy company trying to make money by putting “HALO 4” on the toy box. It isn’t a new tactic either.

Halo wouldn’t be Halo without the Forerunners who created halo because of the Flood.
Just because you associate the covenant with The Game Halo does not mean the Game is nothing without them. The funny part is the covenant isn’t anything without the halo rings.

I completely agree. I don’t believe the Covenant will be completely omitted from Halo 4.

But they don’t need to be in Halo 4. Wouldn’t you find it weird that some of the former races just conveniently show up on the Legendary Planet that is resting in the middle of nowhere in space?
The Covenant are boring now, like…really boring.
If you look at the box for Romeo next to it,it also has the Halo 4 boxart on it, showing that indeed it is just the product line…unless…
why Romeo?

I do find it weird, but anything can happen.
