Hunter Assassinations?

Anyone know if these are possible? I was trying to do so in a Spartan Ops mission, but it was a normal melee attack

Edit: I got Hunter and brutes mixed up. My bad :stuck_out_tongue:

Brute?..in H4?..Wut?

Time was your ally Human but no more .The Brutes Have Returned!!!

Not sure if trolling…

Or if you mean Elites.

No Brutes in H4, but yes, it was possible to assassinate Brutes in Reach.

Oops I meant hunters

As far as I know, no. Makes sense, as Hunters don’t actually have a weak spot since they’re just a colony of worms. If you jumped on their back and shoved a knife in their neck, they’d probably just get mad.

Assassinating Hunters has never been possible.

And at Halcyon.
It would make perfect sense. If I pushed my hand into their back and rip out a huge chunk of worms, they’d probably feel that. And fall over 'cause I messed up middle with a huge gaping hole that used be filled with worms.

in a recent thread theres a video of halo 3 cut ideas and one of them had a hunter assassination by the chief sticking a grenade in the hunters back. It could be possible but only if you had a grenade…

but chances are the hunter would do a trust fall

Hunter assassination in Halo 5 perhaps?

-Jump on back. Stick a grenade inside. Blow to pieces (even if you don’t have a grenade)

-Jump on back. Stab stab stab. Huge hole plus worms everywhere.

There was a thread on here earlier, showing a trashed hunter assassination in Halo 3.

Made me lol

John did it in Forward Unto Dawn by planting a grenade in the Hunter’s exposed back area. To implement it in the game, however, is a different story. Considering it is quite easy to maneuver around a Hunter and have its back facing you, it would be way too easy if that was the only requirement for assassination (back facing player). It would take away the challenge of facing Hunters.

I do believe that a Hunter Assassination is possible if done correctly. I have a couple of examples.

  1. You can only assassinate a Hunter on the 5th time you melee it in the back (the first 4 times just regular melee and damaging/removing that piece of back armor).

  2. Give the Hunter a 20% or 30% chance of performing an extra heavy/deadly melee attack (jumps and lunges at you and deals a certain amount of AOF damage even if the melee does not connect). The tip/edge of the Hunter’s shield, however, gets stuck in the ground momentarily after the melee, allowing you a small window of time to perform said assassination.

without adding certain conditions, simply allowing us to assassinate Hunters takes away their purpose as the Covenant’s “Last Resort”

Nope, they were a cut feature, and was not re-considered for Halo 4. You can find some videos of it in Reach though, either from the demo, or from modders re-enabling it, but there’s no way to do it yourself in either game.

It acted as a vehicle board, as if you boarded a wraith. You could either tap melee to rip out lekgolo from it’s back, or you could plant a grenade.

No, if they added that, Hunters would be too weak.

I would love to see a hunter assassination animation!

I miss the Jiralhanae!

I have an idea for Halo 5.

After you break off the plate of armor from the Hunter’s back, you can ‘hijack’ the Hunter and shove a grenade into it. You can only do this after you removed the armored plate.

Are you sure you don’t have Brutes mixed up with Elites?

Make it where breaking the back takes quite a while, loads of damage. Maybe you even need to weaken the Hunter by 85%. After the back breaks or 85% damage is done, the assassination can happen, but only if you have a grenade in your inventory.

How hard is that to implement?
