Hunter and warden kills dont register in Firefight

I get the medals in game for the kills and it says you killed such and such but i get no commendation progress.

It gives you the credit as killing a boss but only one player can actually score the kill on wardens and boss hunters. (The final shot is the true kill)

Exactly. Getting the medal doesn’t mean you got the final shot. Only final shot gets the commendation progression.

I thought when it said “you killed” it meant you got it.

I think in regular warzone 4 people can get the actual kill credit, so if you need commendations reg warzone is probably better. I thought I’d knock out the warden one pretty quick in ff but all I get is medals.

It is hit and miss with these. 343 increased the amount of participation medals which leads people to think, me included, that they got the kill. Hopefully they will tweak these in the future as assist medals instead of kill medals
