Can you all go into your network setting and tell me your upload speed in your Detailed Network Statistics? I’ve been getting less than 2 Mbps for the past several weeks. It makes my shots not land and lagging all my controller inputs. Everyone else I’ve spoken to in real life tells me they’ve got upwards of 18 Mbps. I’ve used my laptop to do a speed test on my FiOS and it comes back with 30 Mbps up, but for some reason, when I do it on my Xbox One X, I only get an average of 1.5 Mbps.
This roughly what I get on a regular basis.
5.15 Mbps down
0.48 Mbps up
52 ms latency
For a better connection I would recommend that you use a wired internet connection, use a wired controller to reduce input lag, and have your ISP set up a priority connection for your Xbox.
Realistically, your upload and download speeds shouldn’t matter much if they’re around the 2 Mbps mark like what you have. What matters mainly for multiplayer is your latency, AKA ping. If your ping is under 100 (kinda pushing it), you shouldn’t be having issues connecting to any servers. Basically, if you start seeing weird stuff and your latency is low, it’s likely the server or other players’ connections.
My friend sent me his Detailed Network Statistics and he’s got 47.04 Mbps down and 42.38 Mbps up with 49ms latency. He consistency gets higher ranking (Diamond) and kill counts than I do, and I usually come in second. When I first moved into my new apartment, I was getting 50 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up. Not sure why any of that changed. I ran a Verizon FiOS speed test from my laptop and I got 50 down and 30 up. And I ran this while wired to my wi-fi extender, which is a mere 12 ft away from the router upstairs. My Xbox is connected via Cat 6 cable to the extender and I get 100% signal strength. My landlady isn’t savvy enough to go into the router settings and set priorities.
Also, I was playing wired with an Elite controller, and there seemed to be some input lag there, too. Then, I tried it wirelessly and it just seemed more responsive without the 10 ft wire.
My router is weird beyond -Yoinking!- hell.
Wired, 150 ping on average but sometimes worse, up to about 330ping is the highest ive seen it.
I got to wireless and its usually around 35-40 ping, highest ive seen is about 50.
Though my download speed is a bit faster when wired.
This seems like something you’ll want to talk to either Xbox Live Support or your ISP about
