What level of humor do you want in the campaign? Reach had zero, which was fine.
To me, small little tidbits (like the part where Cortana says “You look nice” and both MC and the other guy say “thanks” and look at each other) that make you smile for a second are awesome to have.
Excuse my lack of campaign knowledge, didn’t play much of the older ones.
EDIT: just so you guys know, I got an xbox last year and before that I only played a little of the campaigns at my friends house. so please keep that in mind.
The other guy? Son, or girl if that may be, that is Sergeant Avery Johnson, one of the biggest badasses in the Halo Universe. How could you not know who he is?

ODST had a few snarky comments, and a little bit of humor.
Reach actually had a joke or two. Noble team is in SwordBase, and their next waypoint was below them. Emile says, “Uh…I didn’t bring my shovel, Commander.”

back in march or april it was around the time of the spring show case gameinformer had an article about the first mission in their magazine, they basically wrote nearly all of the first mission and dialogue and cortana has some sarcastic and cocky lines so we will be seeing some humor from cortana at least, well in the early parts of the campaign anyway before the -yoink- hits the fan for cortana.
Reach didn’t have any humor? What about Kat’s death? That had me laughing.
I think it needs to be more less like Reach’s humor, though. I just don’t think it can possibly match the other games, though, since it won’t have Johnson. Maybe if Buck is in the game, it might make up for the lack of Johnson. (Mostly.)
