I would love to see the culmination of past and present factions battling it out in an all out space war epic. From Brutes to Flood to Promethean’s all going at it in one final show down in Halo 6, the whole thing surrounding and on the surface of the Ring seen at the end of Halo 5. To me this would be the finale that Halo deserves. Unsure what happened to the Flood and Brutes exactly as I only play the games campaign, I don’t read the books so I hope they’re still out there (maybe someone can enlighten me). Don’t smite me down Lore Lords. Anyone else with me, or have any thoughts of there own?
Wouldn’t mind seeing the Brutes and Flood being picked back up again, maybe a plot twist with insurrectionists (human rebels) would be a decent change of pace as well.
The Flood might still be around in some way, there are quite a few installations that the UNSC hasn’t located that could very well contain flood spores much like Installation 04 did in Halo: Combat Evolved (As well as Installation 05 in Halo 2).
Of course, I’m not a lore expert. But I doubt that the Flood died off after Halo 3 (with a single, incomplete installation firing) if they have effectively defeated the Forerunners and still managed to survive after the entire galaxy was wiped.

Yes! Human rebels! Plus the many different Covenant factions that are currently going at it. Just one massive free for all.
The Flood just needs to come back. They are still out there in the expanded universe.
Flood are still a threat (possebly infected the spirit of fire thats unknown) but it is on other installations and shieldworlds, and outside of the explored galaxy.
as for the brutes, they still exist. they left the covenant but still use their tech. they for example use locusts to pillage outer colonies. so they could very well return.
as for the rest of the covenant i only wonder where the yan’me are (bugs) those things were a pain xD
the rest is present and accounted for. to see them appear would be nice.
