So after seeing where Spartan Ops is headed I started to think of what the future holds for Halo 5 or even Season 2 of Spartan Ops. In the 8th episode we see Jul’s right hand man get killed (or captured if he is indeed still alive) and then Halsey gets taken away to meet the Librarian. Serin Osman contacts Lasky and orders to go take out Halsey and apparently Sarah Palmer is the one directed with that task.
Also, there is speculation that the key the Librarian hands to Halsey is possibly to control the Prometheans, which would make Jul’s reason for wanting to contact the Librarian very understanding. We wondered why he would want to see her, and this if correct, would be great reason. So assuming the key is to control the Prometheans, which by the way is a reference to how the Gods gave humans fire (and in this case the Librarian giving us an army), then we could assume that Halsey ends up being in control of the Promethean army. Obviously this creates a problem for ONI who already want her dead.
Lasky tells Majestic to stop Palmer, which is going against Osmin. So maybe we see a Halsey, Lasky and Chief alliance to bring down ONI in the next game, with the return of the Flood imminent and the Precursors waiting for us to fail. If the Librarian informs us of the Precursors, there is no doubt in my mind that one step toward proving capable of the Mantle would be bringing down ONI, since they create many problems. Then we have the Didact and his presence which I have yet to figure out how this factors in. But I sense a human on human war beginning. Thoughts?

I think the flood/Precursor test is Humanity being able to unite. If we cannot and only contiune to hate/fight each other then we fail and the flood will come to unite us. Oni and Insurrecntionist is messing it all up for us!
The Insurrectionists may actually play an important role in the future. I wouldn’t be surprised if someday we run into Admiral Cole or his descendents. I’m sure the UNSC would rally behind the Master Chief and Admiral Preston J. Cole against ONI.
Agreed, they really seem to be painting the picture of how far apart ONI is to the UNSC. Even in the prologue they show the riff between Halsey and ONI. And Serin Osman looks like the typical -Yoink- in charge of an organization and only worrying about her power. I doubt they would bring all that up just because.

Jul must have some control over the Prometheans already though, why else would they kidnap Halsey and hand her over to him instead of killing her? Then again if that key does do what many speculate than Jul would be in very big trouble; and ONI for that matter since Halsey would have complete control over the Knights

That’s a good point; however, I think the Didact is behind the reason they listen to him. Maybe he wants full control since he does not believe the Didact to be a God, and if he could surpass him he probably would do so. Or he just believes she has a lot more to offer than just Prometheans.
I think Jul is getting ready to leave Requiem. To be frank, he’s getting his -Yoink- handed to him on Requiem and he wants to be able to find new Forerunner sites that may hold the technology he seeks. Remember at the end of Ep. 5, when he says that the Librarian will show them “where all things sacred lie in the Galaxy?” Besides the religious connotations, I think he’s saying that he thinks the Librarian will show him where other sites dense with Forerunner tech exist so that he can get his forces away from Requiem and find other places to work in relative peace.

So do you think his hate or revenge on humanity has subsided? He did after all seek the Didact in search of help to eradicate us or at least the ones bothering Sanghelios. I agree that he thinks she can show him new tech but I dont know if he is doing it for peace necessarily.
I think it’s very possible that we might see future internal conflicts within the UNSC. Chief defying Andrew Del Rio’s orders could be the beginning, because in the future, he’ll be having to defy and fight Oni for the best interest of the galaxy. This could be why Halo 5 will be the “darkest” Halo game.
I think jul will gain the controll of the prometheans wondering what color they will change to maybe green that would be epic looking but yeah he will gain controll over the prometheans and then attack earth maybe ? and this will be kinda like Halo2.

I think this is more likely as the UNSC is too weak to survive a civil war. The insurrectionist would love this though.
I don’t agree with you. ONI has saved and keeps on saving humanity, without ONI, UNSC is useless.
Halsey doesn’t hate ONI, she only hates Parangosky and Osman.
War against ONI? are you mad? In a halo game it would be quite “dark” killing human insurrectionists, and you think we will kill civilian and military personnel??? For the greater good? When did ONI act against the Earth?
There’s a few problems with this theory, both in universe and out of universe. One is that if the Librarian truly had a way of switching control of the Prometheans to someone else, why not do so when she met John? Even if the Didact was there it would surely have caused trouble for them.
Another is that the Librarian seemed to have quite limited control over them. The only real indication of any influence is that they turned blue, yet they immediately attacked John, a human. Jul’s forces have also been seen fighting alongside the Prometheans, even after the Didact’s “death”. Why would he need a key that gives him control? He seemed to be able to send them to fetch Halsey so it’s clear he can give them some sort of orders.
Finally 343 just created this enemy class. I doubt they’d have them switch sides before they can fully expand upon their ideas and flesh them out as enemies. It would be like if Bungie made it so the entire Covenant were your allies in Halo 2. They wouldn’t have been able to flesh them out as enemy units.
I think the Insurrectionists are the most likely option, why bring them back to such a degree. I figured Jul was a one off character in Glasslands, now he’s leading the Covenant.

No I am not mad. And to your other point about Earth, I did not imply that ONI has hurt humanity from our standpoint. But I pointed to the test from the Precursors. Supposedly the Forerunners were not fit to carry it just as we are acting now, and a lot of that stems from ONI. The Precursors wanted a race to take care of the Galaxy, not destroy life that lives in it.
Either way, 343 is creating a distance between certain human groups and it is the first time we have seen this first hand in a game. This conflict they create will have an impact and I believe is foreshadowing some sort of Human conflict.
The screenshots for Episode 9 show the key and a map surrounding both Halsey and the Librarian. So maybe rather than the Prometheans it is just the basis and access to Forerunner tech across the galaxy that Halsey could use?

Ok well you are literally focusing on the key being a key to the Prometheans. The rest of my theory you have not really raised any points about. My main idea is that ONI will be an enemy of sorts in the future. ONI is going to want that key that Halsey has, not to mention killing her . Chief and Lasky do not want that to happen (The Halsey assassination part) I see a pattern forming.
