The multiplayer in Halo 5 is apparently a combat simulation to prepare our Spartans for combat.
We have Prometheans and Covenant enemies in WZFF, so why not “insurrectionist” human adversaries?
Halo lore states Insurrectionist (human terrorists) and Colony worlds seeking independence are on the rise now that the war with the Covenant is over. Why would the UNSC not be interested in preparing for war with their own species?
Here are some examples of Human encounters:
Shielded Marines guarding a Boss Hannibal Scorpion
4 Wasp Bosses called “Wasp Squadron”
Traitorous Spartan NPCs mixed with Marines and a named Traitor Spartan Boss
Just put back the freaking flood and I’ll be happy
Round of kill all marines would be nice, it would be similar to a round of kill all grunts
I think the reason why Halo has always been so reluctant to have insurrectionist enemies is because a lot of Halo fans are sympathetic towards them. They do have valid points regarding the UNSC’s imperialist ways and their deficient democracy. Some people might take bad messages from having to kill these people. Also the whole theme of Halo is protecting humanity as a whole and our place within the galaxy, and killing other humans might contradict that slightly.
If they are going to implement human enemies, I propose using a more extreme terrorist faction as opposed to just freedom fighting rebels. Perhaps Sapien Sunrise, the terrorists who tried to assassinate a sangheili diplomat. Or an entirely new faction.
That would be cool OP, but I doubt 343 will do that. That might cross the lines keeping Halo 5 a T rated game.
Since you stated that its a simulation, it would make sense that we are going up against the real threat and not insurrectionists. They are all virtually imprinted AI’s against the Spartan. Even if they made insurrections a enemy; I’d feel as if we’d be playing a different type of game. It’s not necessarily the halo way to go against our own race, but I’m open to change.
XO
It would have to be a pretty bad terrorist faction of humans for most people to be fine with human enemies. We’ve never really had to kill humans in Halo before unless you count the NMPD officer that turns on you at the last audio log in ODST or the marines on Sacred Icon in Halo 2, though killing them isn’t something you were meant to do in the first place.
But the insurrections stop ages ago in the halo time line why bring it .

Isnt multiplayer unrated??? If so then it wouldnt matter. Besides…we already kill marines in warzone.
Flood, Brute, and Insurrectionist foes will be a great addition to Warzone in general!

false read the books buck became a spartan in i think it was called new blood and there are still mega insurrectionist groups thisis even further explained in halo hunt the truth season 1 and season 2
The brutes would be hard to kill doe

Nope. Even during the Human-Covenant War, the Insurrection was still going (albeit severely diminished). There was even a group selling UNSC nav data to the Covenant for no other reason than because they could (and because the Covenant had the ability to absolutely exterminate said UNSC holdings, whereas they very much were unable to).
And it didn’t take long after the War had come to an end for an even more militarized sect of the URF to pop up. Then you have Venezia, the origin point of the New Colonial Alliance (which has a militant anti-UNSC CNO).

I agree, halo was different for its iconic aliens, and with all the Human vs Human Fps it feels “copy and pasted” to me.
We kill Marines in Warzone already. And we have functioning Mantis and Warthog AI in WZFF already (albeit with Soldier pilots).
I dont know know why we can’t have human enemies for variety’s sake.

Because unshielded organic foes die too easily (with the exception of Mgalekgolo).
I specified organics, so don’t bring up Promethean constructs. Though if those got shields while still keeping the H5G armor durability… (yes, 343i, use this idea for boss waves/adds, use it…)
It’s really the easiest Update they could bring to FF outside of some balancing issues.
We have all the human tech, all the weapons and vehicles. And we have the Marine AI’s already in the game. Just have random FF rounds be nothing but ‘insurrectionists’ and us vs Human tech instead of Covenant and Promethean tech. It would be a great change up and really wouldn’t be all that hard to implement I believe as all the assets are in the game already.
