Human Sniper Rifle

Anyone else find the human sniper easier to use than it should be?

I mean, I’m good with a sniper, but I never got more than four kills per sniper in reach (outside of the team snipers playlist.) I did in Halo 3, but that’s a different story.

In Halo 4, every time I pick it up (Solace or Ragnorak) I almost always get 6-8 kills per sniper rifle (without the ammo perk.)

It usually starts off with a triple kill, or I’ll occasionally get an overkill with the sniper fairly quickly, which I could never do in reach.

In pretty much every match I have a sniper rifle in (once again, solace and ragnorak) my top killer is the sniper rifle…

Anyone else think it’s easy to use? I mean, I’m decent with a sniper rifle, but that’s just ridiculous.

On another note, the beam rifle is WAAAAY to easy to noscope with…

It’s hard to miss a noscope with a Beam Rifle.

Alright then, thanks reaper!

On another note @ ChainSmokingbob

Yup. It’s more balanced once scoped though.

Correct! Also the Binary Rifle is one shot kill (but only has two “bullets”).

Yes, the Sniper Rifle is easier. Based on the fact I, like you, got less kills in Reach. OR it was harder in Reach.

Perhaps you got better?

I was awfull with the sniper in Halo 3, while in Reach I could land up to 10 kills out of the 12 bullets on a good day, and 6 on a bad, not that good with the snipers now though, but I still land the majority of shots.

Binary is just too easy as it’s a one shot anywhere.

No scopes on both the Beam Rifle and the Sniper Rifle are much easier than they have ever been. The Beam Rifle is of course the easier of the two, it’s almost hard to miss with it, but I’ve found myself able to no scope quite easily with the Sniper also.

As for scoped in Sniper, I think I do about the same with it as I did in Reach, so I can’t really say if one is easier than the other. Much easier than Halo 3 though.

For me, it feels like the UNSC Sniper Rifle from Halo 2 more than anything else. (which is my favorite) It has a few minor differences though. For one, it’s rate of fire is slower, and it has more recoil when fired. Not to mention, it has the awful flinch effect when you get shot by it. (yuk!)

The beam rifle in H2 is very different though. I was just playing H2 custom’s yesterday, and it’s nowhere near as easy to noscope with. I honestly think it’s due to the reticle being about 35% smaller in H2. I really wish 343i would fix this, as I feel like both snipers should be more balanced like they were in H2 / H3.

When the time comes for Team Snipers to return, I’d love to have both rifles in the mix, but with the way things are now, it would be a little unbalanced.

No scoping with the beam rifle is like using the DMR.

Sniping with unsc sniper rifle is easier in regards to body shots. When i played halo 3 people did not even try to go for the head, but now since the recoil was added people cannot do that anymore, and sniping in the head is made more difficult with flinch
