Huge problem with the new Ranking System

I noticed a huge problem about the new invisible ranking system. With an invisible ranking system like this, there is now no incentive to not derank your invisible true skill level by afking. Tons of people are going to be doing this so they can play more scrubs to level up faster to SR130. The level of cheating here is going to make all the arguments against a visible ranking systems cheating flaws look miniscule in comparison.

So don’t complain about getting wrecked so hard by these players if you’ve been against a visible ranking system, because you brought it on yourselves.

aw crap another guy who thinks his opinion = the opinion of the whole halo community

I’m sure 343 has thought about this, quite whining about the ranking system.

Yes exactly right, because me saying tons of people are going to cheat is me trying to do that right?

> I’m sure 343 has thought about this, quite whining about the ranking system.

There isn’t really a defense against it except for a visible ranking system, so I doubt it. There’s way more cheating in Cod than there ever was in previous halos.

Oops double post

I’m not bothered, I wont have to play them.

you got an anwser for everything huh? Just don’t buy the game then.

Oh man not this again!

That makes NO sense. The whole reason people WANT to see the rank is so they can see who’s digital junk is bigger. De-ranking to play lower skilled player JUST to rank back UP makes NO sense at all. Eventually you rank back up to where you were and are stuck at that rank again.

If you like playing against -Yoink- players fine derank yourself you’ll probably feel great about you’re 1337 skills

Who in their right mind would do this and for what purpose!

This does not make any sense at all.

If you de-rank your profile to ‘make it easier’ for yourself, you’ll still rank up past the, as you call them ‘scrubs’. Here’s an example.

You start off at level 30.

De-rank to level 10 to make it ‘easier’ for yourself.

Win all your games and do very well and rank back up to level 30.

You’ve achieved nothing by doing that. Nothing.

And then the person afks back to 10…and gets a lot more points for doing a lot better.

He makes a valid point. derank to kill noobs(sorry less experienced players)… So you can increase your credit output… Hey not to mention we can go afk and still get more credits for the games we try to lose in!!!

Now everyone here is your precipatation award…

Yes that’s the point I was trying to articulate. Terrible system IMO

They will probably not even see the banhammer coming from AFK’ing after 2 games…

There is no defense for it period. A visible ranking system doesn’t stop it. You must not remember all of the people who deranked in Halo 2, and Halo 3. I would actually argue that a visible ranking system makes it more convenient because you will be able to find out exactly how many times you need to quiet. Also the amount of cheating in COD is on par with the amount of cheating in Halo don’t kid yourself.

why would we need to derank? rampant quitting from join in progress will do it for you.

A very large portion of the player base will do this. It happens in other games that use this system all the time.

If players can find an easy way to reach max “rank” faster than average, they will use it.

And that was a very small percentage of the total population because there was a disincentive to doing it. With absolutely no disincentive, the percentage will increase drastically.

As for your statement about the cheating being on par, I guess you’ve never played Cod because there is way more abusing the system than halo ever had.
