HUGE POPULATION DECLINE! But Halo 4 is NOT...

DYING!!

Ok so far, there has been a huge decline in MM, but that huge decline started on the 13th, not Friday the 13th, “CoD the 13th”, and the population has been pretty consistent after and before this release.

Not to mention Halo 4 tells you how many players are currently in Matchmaking(NOT how many people has played that very day.), Halo 3 told you it’s UUs(Unique Users) within a day, and it was NOT for matchmaking, it was for everything, and Halo 3’s counter was broken for the most part, that’s why Halo 3 had ridicousily high population numbers. Halo: Reach told you how many total players that are currently online, and it DOES NOT COUNT JUST MATCHMAKING, it counts everything just like Halo 3, except Reach is NOT based on UUs, it’s based on how many players are currently online. Halo 4 counts the players currently, CURRENTLY only playing WAR GAMES: MATCHMAKING, and it’s population HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH UUs(Unique Users).

Each Halo game counts population in different ways, that’s why the numbers were so vastly different.

Halo 4 has to compete with alot more games than any other Halo game.

Halo 4 is not dying, it’s probably having the healthiest population in a Halo game yet. (and it also seems like the total Matchmaking population in Halo 4 shows different numbers according to time zones.)

I find people who track the numbers forget to look at the Spartan Opts nums

False.

While I agree that Halo 4 is not dying, the numbers have dropped significantly. While it doesn’t effect my game that much, it does make you question some of the decisions made in Halo 4.

Throws OP flame suit It’s dangerous to post here, take this.

BO, BO2, MW2, MW3, WaW, MW, Minecraft, Battlefield, New Super Mario Bros U, Wii U, Halo: Reach, Skyrim, etc is less competition to you???

> I find people who track the numbers forget to look at the Spartan Opts nums

The Spartan Ops numbers also only counts people in Spartan Ops: Matchmaking.

H4 competitive??
Talking about halo games H4 is less competitive than Reach and reach than H3 …
Trials Evolution is more competitive than all news FPS in Xbox…

> H4 competitive??

Facepalm what I mean by that, it has much more games to compete with than other Halo game. I’m not saying the game is competitive. I’ll edit the OP, to make myself clear.

Bioshock, Gow, Fallout, Medal of Honor, FEAR, Tom Clancy’s rainbow six, The Orange Box, Cod2, Cod4, Battlefield, Metroid Prime, Crysis, etc. Thats what H3 was dealing with during release, is that less competition to you?

I never said that Halo 4 didn’t had competition, but the assertion that other Halo games were the only big titles on the market in their primes is grossly incorrect.

Peak population has been going way down… It was cut in half on “CoD the 13th” and now its only half of that half.

Halo 4 is not competing with MW2, WAW, Halo Reach, or MW1. And Skyrim’s population is minimal.

Halo 3 had to compete with MW1, MW1, WaW, BF:BC2, Smash Bros Brawl, the PS3 at the hight of it’s populatiry, and by your logic Halo 2.

Halo: Reach had to compete with MW2, BO, MW3, BF:BC2, BF3, Fifa 2011 and 12, Skyrim, Minecraft, and by your logic Halo 3.

Sounds like pretty much the same competition all around.

That’s not delving into the wide world of PC games with things like WoW Expansions, League of Legends, Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, Command and Conquer etc. That previous Halo Games also had pulling players away to.

You posted 12 games, and I posted 13 games, those games weren’t as popular as they are now, and I’m pretty sure 6 CoD games destroys the list.

Read my whole OP before you post. And that “chart” only tells you the peak “PEAK” population for WAR GAMES: MATCHMAKING only. And it does “NOT” tell you how many “UUs”(Unique Users) in Halo 4’s WAR GAMES: MATCHMAKING!

H4 isn’t competing with BO, MW2, WAW, MW, Reach, MW3, and skyrim isn’t much. Pretty much cuts your list in half.

Skyrim is #8 on the Xbox Live charts.

AND let’s not forget the huge amount of Xbox 360s that have been sold between 2007 and now. There were far fewer people who even owned a 360 when halo 3 was out. So if anything Halo 4 should have population numbers at least in the ballpark of what Halo 3 had. But it doesn’t.

1st: you forgot Mass Effect 3. Which has a huge population for going against two major FPS.

2nd: most people I know use to play Halo 3 6-8 hours a day even with all the other games.
Then ODST came out and no one like the changes. So most of us move to CoD WaW because it was less run for gun and more strategy. Yes you still had silliness but for us it was more fun. We stayed with it about 4-6 hours depending on the single player games we had. Mass effect, fallout, and bio shock were big games for the single player perspective.
Halo 4 has to go against single player games like ME and Boarderlands. Skyrim is still a major playlist and there are more games on market the ever before.
Personally I choose Halo over BO2 because the crappy little germ balls I watched reserving BO2. Oh and it has vehicles. Am I happy, yes when the friends are on ore others are having fun without wine and cheese. Do I miss my old Halo silliness, some of it. But because I like more culture in my games I tend to play 2-3 hours a day with it.
Just more options and it will never die as long as playlists don’t take 10 mins to set up a game. Then the MP will die like the Darkness.
