Huge Plot Hole. How was the Pilot able to arrive with the Pelican when Chief arrives at [ Redacted ] after [ Redacted ]? It is literally Impossible

( Spoilers )

At the end of the Game, after being missing for three days, Chief arrives/teleports on a floating, dusty island in the middle of space between The Halo ring and IMMEDIETELY afterwards, within SECONDS, the pilot arrives at his location.

Does 343i have no concept of time ? The Pilot being at Chief’s location so quickly implies that he was nearby before Chief even Arrived. Even Fan Fic writers are smart enough to know the impossibility of that time frame. Like, he didn’t just fly the Pelican some 1000+ miles to Chief’s location within 20 seconds of the cutscenes. ( Assuming Chief is floating about 1000 miles from the edge of the ring, which is a reasonable assumption considering the distance from the teleport location to the visible arc of the ring. It could be 500 miles, or even 1500, which would still make it impossible for the Pilot to fly that quickly )

I don’t think I can even consider Infinite as being “Cannon” anymore due to the numerous glaring plot holes and inconsistencies with the story.

Especially the fact that Chief was floating in Space for six months, just happened to have been found by the pilot, and on the SAME DAY, that the Banished and Harbinger captured the Monitor and started the process of the Reformation. Even with the “luck” attributes of Chief, the timelines of these events are implausible.

Having Chief floating in space for a week or a few days is much more plausible and having him defeat the Banished over the course of a few days is as well.

Glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed this, but yes, the plot holes\inconsistency are a real pain sometimes. Although the story is much better than that of H5, I do agree that some story elements were a bit forced or WAY too coincidental. Plot holes or not, it’s not really in our power to say what is or isn’t “Cannon” (Sadly).

He’s magic, able to teleport to the Chief just in time for a cutscene and be completely safe at all times regardless of what happens

343i’s minds may have melted durning the production of halo, so we may need to “gloss” over mistakes

He’s also able to deliver endless supplies or vehicles, weapons, and super rare weapons on demand instantaneosly too.

Honestly infinite is the least immersive halo.

The running theory at the moment is the teleportation caused a “time dilation” or some sort of time manipulating BS was involved.

This is just one of the many plot holes in Infinite. Halo looks a lot like a fishing net with how many plot holes there are in this latest trilogy from 343. Their writing has gotten so horrific at times that they have actually had to dip into previously established lore to retcon or “alter” things just so their new writing can have solid ground to stand on.

There is also a lot left unsaid at the start and the end of Infinite, which is very troubling after they have spiritually rebooted the franchise. Who knows what’s going to happen now… and that may sound cool and all for the new players who have no idea what Halo is, but the veterans who have been here for 20 years just got reset all the way back to day one until 343 starts releasing story related DLC or web comics or something to explain WTF is going on in-game.
