With all of the focus on accessibility, HUD customization needs to be available asap.
The grenade and equipment placement are in a bad spot. The grenades never show what else you have in your inventory except for the main grenade. The equipment is also too small and the icons are not different enough to convey what you have until you use it.
These impacted my gameplay almost as much as anything else in the new sandbox and I sincerely hope it gets addressed.

Size, positioning, options to visually show ammo not just numbers, etc.
I agree. There are many elements that bot only could be moved but tweaked entirely with size, color, layout etc.
Imagine having a CE, 2, 3 pre formatted HUDs to choose from! Would totally make sense as a microtransaction for them too. Unlocking each of the old styles would be tremendously fun for a 32 year old OG like me who played them all.
I agree with you. My motion tracker was too small, and my ammo display was not in a spot I am used to. Adding customization to where they can go would be very nice.
I would like to add one more thing to your list, ‘colour customization for hud elements.’ We already have a little of this with the friendly and enemy tags on the map, so maybe we can also get this as well?
Agreed. We need HUD customization.
Personally the radar is the biggest thing for me; I have trouble hearing so radar is a big accessibility thing that allows me to play this game. Right now its too small, so I think making it customizable will be great and should be a priority; that said, they have a lot to do so I get that it will probably take a little while. This game is coming out pretty early and there’s gonna need to be lots of post-launch work, so I’ll just be glad with whatever I get as opposed to asking them to delay launch further.
Give me the Reach or H3 HUD and I’ll be happy, though any of the past HUDs would be better than Infinites.
This would be great! Everyone could be happy about their hud… it’s honestly a no brainer and a win win, everyone gets the hud they like nobody is unhappy. I like the halo CE and reach huds the most myself, if I could do that I’d be ecstatic!
We need a classic HUD option immediately and/or the ability to place every single individual item on the HUD wherever you want it. And the option for the classic bullet counter instead of the generic raw number. Seriously why get rid of that, it’s been around since CE and you guys just uproot things for no (good) reason.
