HUD Customization

Throughout all the halo games, the HUD has never stayed the same. They were all different. In H1, the shields were displayed on the top right, and in H2, the bottom right. In H3 and ODST, it was displayed across the top. I think it would be cool if you could rearange your entire HUD. You should be able to rearrange, and choose where your shields, compass, nades, ammo, radar, and secondary weapon are displayed. If you want, you could put your shields on the left vertically, nades on the bottom, and radar across the top. Also you could hide things. Go full blind skull mode if you want.
You could also shrink, and enlarge each thing, exept crosshairs. And you can choose your HUD color, any color (like how elite’s are green, and spartan’s are blue in H3). You could do green, red, purple, black, white, ect; what ever you want.

If you’re a CoD fan, make your HUD look like that. If you don’t want HUD to get in the way, you can keep it simple, like putting everything in 1 corner. Thoughts?

That was easily accessible in Halo PC (they were separate elements, not an unified one), but I’m not so sure about the other Halos. But given the skulls (Fog, Blind), it certainly seems possible and should be implemented.

Nah. You can get used to a different HUD in a day. Some people may like it but the majority of the players probably don’t.

change the colour theme

Maybe to change the colour theme. But it doesn’t really phase me. I quite like them all. (ODST health I’m not keen on though)

> change the colour theme

Yup.

at the very least the ability to customize the color any way we want, even for matchmaking, would be awesome.

Yes. This would be a game addition that isn’t detrimental to gameplay.

I wish you could do this, but make it so that you could add other things to your HUD like how many players are alive on each team and so you could change it to display teammate’s health and other things.

Keep it simple though. Two bars over a players head ; A blue bar represents shields and a green bar that changes from green, yellow and red to display health.

A customizable Hud would allow that wow factor to draw in casual players too since customizing your player model is a big thing these days. It doesn’t damage gameplay too, but I think the aiming cross-hairs should stay the same for all HUDs.

I posted this as a suggestion in the “Official Halo Feedback Thread”

I would love it if we could chose the color and if the differnt helmets had differnt outlines to them to match the faceplate.

as far as HUD Customization, I say ether leave it what the Deves have set, or give you a chance to pick between the HUDs from all of the games, but getting as far as picking where and how each part of the HUD is set up, that can become more problem than it’s worth, yes I like having the Health and Shield HUD at the top of the screen, but Radar need to stay put, most games I’ve played, the radar is in the bottom left cornor, so it’s easier for me to get use to where it is.
The Ammo count, I don’t care where it is, but I’ve noticed that most games with just held weapon icon and ammo count can go any where, but games like Halo that show the ammo count for all weapons, it’s best to have it at the top.

Now as far as color goes, I would love to be able to change it’s color, cause I don’t like the light blue color, it looks blah.

It would be a nice, little feature. More customisation never hurt anyone.

I could get used to this… mainly the color change idea

I totally want a rainbow HUD. Maybe a shield bar that was a rainbow itself.

I would love it if I could customize everything about my HUD.

IMO they should have a system similar to the fireteam indicator from Reach. A list of emblems or callsigns that are replaced with a X when the player dies. This could help when on defence because you can only tell if a friendly is killed if you are looking at them. In SWAT when gaurding a building I dont want to turn around every 10 sec to see if the guy covering the other door is dead. This could really streamline combat and give you better awareness in combat.
