First off, I love Hunt the Truth. It is a wonderful series. Getting to the point though, I am very angry over Ben Geroud. After all the struggles he went through, after everything he did, he was massively screwed. Full on -Yoink- -Yoinked!-, with no lube. Anthony betreyed him, which automatically makes him a grade A bona fide piece of dirt in my book. And Petra seems to not give a damn. That is what ticks me off mist of all, the fact that one of his supposed friends, could forget about him that easily, talk crap about him after hid most likely death, and then take his story like it’s hers, and still cap on him. It’s as I she never cared about him anyway. I hope Ben I alive because even though I will continue to listen with eager ears, it would be a huge letdown to here Ben died. Even if he did, I want his work to mean something. And I do not like Petra. Anyone who can talk that much -Yoink- about someone who might be dead, is bad news in my book.
The episode it’s self left me frozen. I couldn’t believe what was happening. It caught me off guard and made me feel a mix of differnet emotions. This is compelling story telling. And the fact that you are annoyed about the outcome is what reniforces the greatness behind “Hunt The Truth”. A fantastic series. I agree, I didn’t want what happened to happen. Hopefully we will get some cool Easter eggs or references in h5 to Ben and htt.
The quality of this production was on point. They achieved something that was so effective, it’s amoung the best halo story telling.

First off it’s Giruad, and second of all Anthony probably had a gun to his head during the call. I get that he should’ve not went through with it but hell, everyone in this world is full of -Yoink!-, afraid for their own lives not others. I was heartbroken that ONI fisted Ben in the -Yoink- and had a major clutch moment at the end and stopped Ben and killed him, but damn. Sully tried warning him. Glassed planets have bad records. And I absolutely love the fact that Petra and Ray are taking over now, going further and more into exposing ONI for killing their friends. Like she had said, Ben was too afraid and held back. Ben was getting so strong and confident, that ‘last’ episode brought him back to his stutter/unsure demeanor. It was sad, guess I get it though. Sucked having all the evidence just to have ONI present the evidence for you like its nothing.
I understand the frustration but it was bound to happen, Petra said herself that he was sloppy numerous times. Also, complaining that his friends didn’t care about him would be overlooking the times he screwed them over. Early on when he used recordings of Petra without permission and told her she was overreacting when she confronted him on it. Plus, he did the same to Ray and in the end, his home ended up being stripped clean just like Giruads. Granted, they both eventually let him use the recordings but he still crossed that line first. Lastly, as far as Anthony goes, we do not know what ONI had on him or what he was threatened with that made him turn like that. Giruad only contacted him when he needed something and the time when Anthony was going on about how they couldn’t make his life any worse, he cut him off saying he “felt sick” all of a sudden because he didn’t care, he was “calloused” as he put it. Yes, it’s unfortunate that things ended badly for him but I was already getting tired of him and I look forward to what Petra has to add to this story.
Well that’s life, the team we expect to win… Doesn’t. I feel this was a far more believable ending then… “One man beats all odds” Hollywood ending that has so often dogged Scifi. It was very reminiscent of Game of Thrones minus the decapitation.
As Much as Ben was a good character his actions if completed would have thrown Humanity into a Civil war with no guaranty that anything would change or the revolution would turn over a new age . ONIs placation of the Colonies cost the integrity of one man who I feel was given a out many times but his pride got the better of him. His only friend seemed to be Petra as she told him numerous times to stop or really think it through. my hope is Petra does things right.

It isn’t Petra’s fault that Ben got sloppy and gave ONI the best chance they could ask for to take him down. I don’t blame her reaction to Ben’s departure. She knows how to deal with dangerous situations far better than him given that her work has brought her in conflict with hostile Sangheili…and she won.
This whole series reminded me of Edward Snowden and what could have happened to him if he was sloppy. I can imagine him on a major news network that is in cahoots with the government and federal agents arresting him the same way. I expected something bad like this to happen to Ben. It was too perfect to get all that data so easily.
This episode got me riled up for sure. But Oni accomplished their goal. They made the rumours, and echos of child cruelty and capital crimes against humanity fabrications. If they ever come up in the future, its all just a bunch of crazy conspiracy nuts now. Master chief was used as a buzzword to raise the issue then get the issue dismissed. Now the question is, did Sully try to warn Ben in the beginning, and how much of this happens during before or after the events of Halo 5?
I’m hoping this is mostly BEFORE H5 really kicks off, maybe the game will give us Easter eggs into the fate of the characters.
I don’t think Ben is dead, Petra said they are throwing him in a hole, which implies he’s going to a blacksite/ghostsite.
I think that Ben needs all the help he can get right now.

I never really got the Petra ‘taking over his show’ thing. It seemed to me more like she was continuing the fight.

I was thinking the exact same thing after last nights episode! That would be amazing. Kinda like how truth hacks into the feed in Halo 3. “You are all of you Vermin” OMG gave me chills. I cant imagine what I would do if Petra hacks into the E3 presentation and releases ONI info and then 343i shows Halo 5 and the significance of Petra’s reveal.
