Hows the new music?

All halos I played had legendary music, I will never forget the last level of halo 3 racing my friends to escape the doomed ring or mowing down covys to kill a prophet in a temple listioning to amber clad in halo 2 or reach’s lone wolf whilst in the thick of battle and who could forget the classic theme to the first halo ever.

Truly halo has great music. I have not been able to try halo 4 yet but I will in time, but I have to ask is the music good bad or better? What are the thoughts of fellow spartans and sangheili (who cant play as elites in the new halo sadly)?

Worse, its utter crap compared to Halo 3’s soundtrack.

Really that bad? Thought there would have been at least one or 2 good songs.

Needs Gregorian chanting in the beginning and a more “Orchestra” type of music in some of the cutscenes.

What music? There was music?

I loved it. Actually gave me goosebumps during some moments. And what makes it better, is that they still kept some parts of the older soundtrack in and played it during certain points. Overall, it’s great.

I really like it, fits 4’s theme.

But I do agree with a lot of grunts above, needed more chanting.

So the music is ok. Good, at least it gets the feel for the story and all but sounds kinda disappointing that it lost some of its luster.

It’s not bad - sounds a lot like Portal 2’s soundtrack

Maybe 343 took some inspiration for other games for the music.

> What music? There was music?

This. only part where I actually heard something was the haloish “theme” when the halo showed up. h1, 2 and 3 had the best music. reach and h4 are pretty terrible to the honest. not hating on h4 in general, it’s cool.

I honestly disliked it. The only parts where I liked it is where they were playing the old tunes! But then again, they only played parts of the old tunes, never the full songs. Man, there were so many parts where I thought Matry’s music would fit better.

Music is fantastic!, it’s just that the best parts are too quiet, while the ‘alright’ filler parts are louder.
Maybe not as ‘EPIC OMG KILLS TEH THINGS’ fun like Halo 3, but along with Halo 4’s story it’s much more emotional.

This one takes about 2:00 to get to the best section, but you’ve got to listen all the way up to it.

I love the OST, I think it was used in the game very poorly, but listening to it on its own it’s great.

Wow that didnt sound to bad! I wont forget the classics like I said in the OP but still that sounds like its going into the vault. Hearing the this kinda makes me want to play in amber clad again, think I will later.

they didn’t use this amazing music very well in the campaign, when that song was playing you could barely hear it.

Haters gonna hate but at some points it really reminded me of Star Wars. I miss the iconic choir in the background… Doesn’t come close to H3 or Reach.

Can’t beat Marty O’Donnell.
