A lot of people are mentioning that they are getting a “Your console has lost connection to the game” error, which has only stated happening since the most recent update. I just experienced it in a game of CTF, kinda sucks seeing as both our teams were evenly matched.
Destiny had something like this added, it doesn’t work every time but when it does it’s a saving grace.
Modes that don’t have JIP are unfortunate in that losing a member of your team pretty much guarantees a loss. It doesn’t have to be automated if that would be too tricky to code, so maybe something where if you get kicked from a game (due to whatever connection issues and not misbehavior) you can attempt to immediately rejoin it from a special node in the arena/warzone menu that only appears if the game you left is still active. Playing any other game mode or when that particular game has ended will result in the expiry of the node.
Very true, League of Legends has a similar system in place for when a player becomes disconnected. Basically the players character is removed from play but the account is still associated with the game, so when the player launches the game again it asks them whether or not they want to join the game in progress. Quite frankly, I don’t know why more games do not have this.

On one hand, if someone leaves (or gets kicked from the bad servers) you’re gonna falter in performance
But, on the other, once someone JiPs into a match they’re disoriented, they haven’t gotten a feel for the specific match, and will most likely underperform because of it
Either way someone leaving benefits the enemy team completely. On one hand, you have less firepower. Once the other comes into play you have someone who’s not on top of their game to pick off.
But even then, there are legitimate reasons to leave a match, such as something in real life, bad servers, or an unjust boot (grifball >:c)
Either way, everyone loses. I honestly have no solution that would appease everyone in this scenario.
Except replace the lost player with a Heroic AI bot with damage equal to a normal player. That might help.

His suggestion wasn’t about bringing in a random into JIP, but if a player drops out they have the option to re-enter the match if it is still in progress. This would alleviate many pains related to disconnects.
