I’m just curious as to what people actually want.
Be realistic folks. I voted “HD Campaign & Maps for H4/5”. Why would they split the community and have it have its own multiplayer, remaster the amazing campaign, add 7 MP maps to Halo 4/5 maybe give the SMG as a little bonus.

Split the community…lol, you have no idea what you are talking about. How would the community be split just because a game has it’s own original MP? That’s lame to say that, there’s no split whatsoever, none. People don’t leave one Halo for another, they just buy both and play them both.
The split in the community came when they gave us crap for CEA MP and it pissed a lot of people off.
Having two Halo games with their own online multiplayers would strengthen Halo not weaken it. Look at CoD, it always has at least two games on xbox live.
I think with the change happening in Halo this is actually the only true solution to saving Halo:
Do true remakes of CE, 2, and 3, with their own online multiplayers, so that the core classic Halo game play can continue to exist.
Then, change Halo in 5 and 6 as much as 343 and Microsoft thinks it needs to change. Make it exactly like CoD except sci-fi in space if that’s what they think will sell the most for all I care. If I had CE, 2, and 3 on xbox live remade with new graphics I would be thrilled and perfectly okay seeing Halo Reach, 4, 5, and 6 become even drastically different if they changed that much.

that was your first mistake
> Why would they split the community and have it have its own multiplayer
because h2 multiplayer is actually good

Their is no denying that it would fragment the population. Halo 4 would lose players and 343 doesn’t want that to happen. My hopes though is Halo 4 basically being treated like a “dead” game come November 2014 and 343 goes with this approach… Halo 2 main title for a year then Halo 5 in 2015. I just want at least one more full year of Halo 2 XBL in my life. I don’t care when it happens. It just has to happen eventually. Give me one solid year and I can be happy. Whether it’s with updated graphics or classic graphics. I just want Halo 2 gameplay on XBL. I do Halo 2 lan parties almost every Saturday with anywhere between 6-10 buddies and I still love this game. To be able to play with and against full teams and be able to play BTB again would be a dream come true.
My ultimate dream scenario is for “Halo 2 Multiplayer Arcade” to launch for free with every next gen xbox. I would be first in line to buy the next gen xbox and I wouldn’t even purchase a single game. I’d hook the xbox up, go to my games library, launch H2MA, and enjoy myself for weeks on end like I used to do.

Nonsense, what fragmentation? We buy all the Halo games, we play all halo games. Where’s the fragmentation? That term has been conjured up and has no relative meaning whatsoever in relation to gaming. Give us one good game and we play it, give us 2 good games and we play them both. NOBODY leaves one Halo game for another, they are simply choices.
Fragmentation, split the community, lol, catch phrases with no meaning whatsoever.
ya fragmentation is pretty bs
i don’t disgrace myself by playing current halo although i would be all over an h2 re-release
therefore they don’t lose somebody playing the newest installment but they get somebody playing another
What does it mean to fragment population? Really it means to spread and thin out the population. A new Halo game doesn’t do this. Halo 5 for instance isn’t made to fragment the community. It’s mean’t to push players from the previous main title. A game like Halo 2 would split the population. Regardless of who plays which game and when they play it they are thinning out the population. I’m not going to say Halo 4 is on life support but it could use some help. If H2A came with original mp Halo 4 would surely lose enough players whether it’s constant or on and off the population would be fragmented. This is why I wouldn’t mind Halo 2 being treated as if it were a new Halo game. Kill off most of the Halo 4 population for a year with H2A(and constant matchmaking support) and then release H5 the next year. It makes sense to me… Most console games hardly hold a life span of 2 years now anyway.
At the same time though I can see hardcore Halo 2 fans not supporting Halo anymore just because of 343 avoiding classic H2 MP. Either way I’m 100% for HD Halo 2 mp. I love the gameplay of Halo 2 (button glitches and superjumps included) and I would love re-exploring all the maps in HD.
