How would you rate Infinite’s core gameplay?

On a scale of one to ten. How would you rank the core gameplay? I know there are issues with ranking up etc…. Just want to know how the community feels about the gameplay

I think the core gameplay is Halo/10. Not to say it doesn’t have issues, even issues that might never be resolved and may be opinion based such as weapon / vehicle balance. But I think at its core, it’s the best Halo we’ve had since 3.

With original HCE and H2 at about 9 or 10 /10 and Halo 3 at 8/10
I would give Infinite 4/10 (5/10 with BR starts)

It will likely be the most patched Halo ever, so if they fix Grenade bounces and impact to be consistent, fix Melee consistency, improve Sniper sluggishness, aim-assist and other things… I would increase it to 7/10, and I put it under Halo 3 mainly cause there are some things that can and will never be fixed like the feel of the game.

I’m not quite sold. It’s a 6/10 for me.

I’d definitely give it a 10/10 even with broken aim assist on PC. Steam version just got fixed so hopefully the Xbox game pass version is next.

6/10, melee feels sloppy without collision

The controller aiming is absolutely terrible, the sensitivity is super freaking slow. I can’t stand it at all. The number 1 issue with the game for me. I don’t even care about aim assist it’s fine. I don’t care about the battle pass, or the customization, or the spawns, or the vehicles, or the radar, I don’t care about any of it. It’s all gravy. But the controller aiming is straight up awful and there’s no way in hell I am going to play this game like this. The controller look sensitivity has to be doubled from 10 up to 20 or 25 at minimum, just to be able to do a 180 turn with only half the stick’s range of motion. I should be able to flick the stick halfway to the end of it’s range of motion and do a 180 turn with that. Instead it takes like 30 years to do a 180 turn. Aim acceleration goes from 1 to 5, this setting cannot be disabled, at all. Aim acceleration is always on. The stick deadzones set to 0 aren’t actually a 0% deadzone and it’s painfully obvious to me and my mixed look Legacy stick layout. I can’t like this game. I’ve spent many hours in the training area shooting at bots and tweaking settings and nothing feels great or even passably good.

From a halo pc stand point, the gun play is very solid and I like it a lot. The weapon balancing needs some tweaks, though. I really dont see any viable use for the pulse carbine and that’s just one example. For me, at least an 8/10.

Halo general 10, but the bad controls for gamepad makes it hard to enjoy.

It’s high, really high. Movement feels good, weapons feel (mostly) good, on KBM at least. Vehicles may need a little adjustment, but I rarely use them. Aside from some launch day server issues, and load times, what’s there is frankly phenomenal. Easily 9/10 for me.

That’d be a solid 5.5/10. It has no major design choices that would create a philosophical rift between the game and my preferences. At the same time, I just find a lot of minor nagging things about it that make it a kind of mediocre experience.

And I want to be clear here: 5.5/10 is an OK game. It’s reasonably fun. 343i has finally managed to create gameplay I don’t actively despise. I have no fond memories of multiplayer in Halo 4 and 5, but in Halo Infinite I’ve had a couple of games which in retrospect were pretty neat. But too many things bother me that I struggle to see myself playing this game a lot in the long term.
