I’ll tell you my plan.
First, I will catch up to the Chief somehow. Tell him that we have a fallback Cortana AI that bares all the knowledge up till her death. John demands that we FaceTime him with Cortana. I get ONI to make a temporary Cortana hologram that has Jen Taylor’s voice.
Chief comes back home to the UNSC. We play the hologram again, this time, they are within inches of each other. Cortana says, “I’ve missed you.”
I turn off the Hologram, and Chief falls for the trap. A huge cage made out of Hardlight drops over John. I win :)))))
I put down a plate of cookies, a glass of milk, and Cortana’s A.I. chip on a table in a dimly lit room. Being mesmerized by the contents of the table, Chief will fail to notice the tripwire at the bottom of the doorway, leaving him trapped in my carefully devised net trap.
This cannot possibly fail.

Capturing John with a net trap? Why didn’t I think of this rofl I’m dead xD.
Drop an elephant on him, then while he’s trying to flip it, cryo bomb him. Then load him onto an empty ship with no weapons for him to use, no armour and is driven by an AI based on Andrew Del Rio.
“Chief! An Sangheli has just come to us! Says he knows about Cortana. Says she’s still alive!”
Then I take him to a post outside that says “traitor”

Giving chief an Andre Del Rio AI, is the equivalent of giving Cortana Gravemind to torture her. I don’t Chief to become a mad rampant Chief. We just want him back to the UNSC, but not act like he’s on -Yoink!-.
John has luck…you lose. Stop trying.

This the greatest comment I’ve seen on Waypoint in a while.

John will follow the command of any Blue silhouette, that is in the shape of a female. I think I got him beat bruh.
I can’t think of anything funny so I’ll go about this “realistically”.
Assemble a a team of the best ONI agents and Spartan IIIs and IVs with prior ODST experience.
Team would be Locke, Buck, Romeo, Thorne and Jun A266.
Locke as team lead.
Buck and Romeo as direct action.
Thorne as infiltration/intelligence collection.
Jun A266 as sniper/recon.
The plan would be to lure Master Chief onto Sanghelios and pay off members of Jul M’dama’s forces to act as Swords Of Sanghelios members to attack the Master Chief, making him look like a traitor and in violation of the UNSC/SOS treaty. Then the ONI team would ally themselves with the Arbiter and take down Master Chief in a trap set with a fake Cortana. Proceed to capture threat and eliminate if necessary.
I’ll just get a non-human intelligence to tell him to do something because it is for the greater good. He always seems to fall for that trick.
You can’t. The Chief catches you.
Armor-piercing tranquilizers. A lot of them.

Doesn’t have to be funny. That’s quite the team, although I’m curious to why you included Thorne. I like his character, but I still don’t think he’d have the experience to keep up imo. In fact, I believe Thorne was in the run to be apart of Locke’s team, but was scratched. 343 did have a sketch of Locke’s team, and it included someone with Recruit armor.
I like that idea of making Jul’s faction look like Thel’s. Damn, that would suck for Chief of Arby wasn’t in on it. Don’t want tentions to form between the 2 again.

Exactly what I was thinking. Yeah science -Yoink-

LoL I get that reference. Then a lot of people surround him and stab him with energy swords all the while saying “For the Halo”.
Trying to catch the Chief I have only a few words for this predicament.

I included Thorne due to his skills in direct action and infiltration, along with his ability to act very well on his own. On the wiki it also says he is requisitioned with the CIO, Scout, Recon, and Pathfinder suits, all of which fill intelligence collection and scouting roles. Also in his bio he is credited with single handedly saving his platoon during his time in the UNSC Army. I see similarities between him an Noble Six in terms of skill sets. And the plan setting paying some of Jul’s Elites to attack Chief is just a sort -Yoink- move I’d expect a black operations and intelligence agency to come up with. Originally I would have made the plan to pay off SOS members directly but I thought that it would put too much between Chief and Arbiter. Not to mention, if compromised ONI could gain some flack for it. Using enemies disguised as friends helps that to an extent.
