Agent Locke is just an eh character in Halo 5. I don’t know if 343 is trying to make Locke the next Master Chief, if it is, it’s going to fail. I seen a review from AngryJoe and he had said Locke should have been a veterans spartan, which I do agree that how he should be booked. It just makes Agent Locke a lag dog for taking order from the UNSC. How would you book or improve Locke as a whole
well he isn’t a great character to begin with Hell 343 even made fun of it all when Cortana Mentioned how Buck was the most experienced and he was dosing around with a bunch of spartan wannabe.
Turn him into an AI that feels like it’s doing Offensive Bias’ job against MB (analogy of role)… But in the end, due to thinking efficiently, ends ups “perfecting” UNSC warfare ideology and gives rebirth to ancient human-like destruction as a means of conscripting the resources to fight Cortana.
I think Buck would fit the role a lot better since he has more combat experience and has history in the series, sort of like how Sergeant Johnson came to be.
He feels like the token “Fanfic original fancharacter” that people make when they write fanfiction. Only 343 has the capacity to make him official because, well, they own the IP now.
I think Buck needs to get his own team and own game maybe going into unexplored space.

… that’s kind of awesome.
I would like to see Buck take charge. I bet he could take a punch from the Chief.
I do agree that Buck should get his own game and that he should get another team because his team now stinks!
Having him turn against ONI to support the Spartans would be nice. Especially since, you know, ONI is practically run by AIs and GUESS WHO JUST YANKED MOST SMART AIS OUT THERE…
I can’t make a new Locke without remaking the Halo 5 story. I’m sorry but the story is just too horribly written for me to do anything with it.
Locke would be ONI’s ideal Spartan. How they trained him would be mysterious. He would not talk, except to give orders. He would not make comments unless it was orders or to straighten his teammates out. And he would definitely NOT take his helmet off.
Locke would basically be ONI’s iron fist. If ONI wanted a task done the best way possible, they would send Locke. In Halo 5, he would eventually be responsible for killing Jul and hunting down Halsey. But instead of just one mission it would be his entire plot. Just like killing the Heretic and hunting down the Icon was Arbiter’s plot.
In my version, Halo 5 would begin with Chief, explain what happened in Halo 4, and who Blue Team is. Chief still believes the Didact to be a threat and hunts for any sign that may reveal him or his plans. Turns out Didact was composed, Medicent Bias saw an army in need, Didact became Warden Eternal, and replace Cortana with Medicent Bias. Did I mention Bias is kinda pissed? But we’re here to talk about Locke so lets talk about him.
So Locke kills Jul in a boss fight. An actual boss fight. Unfortunately for Halsey, Locke had orders to capture her and throw her where suns don’t shine. However Buck disagrees and knows that Chief is still looking for her. As a way to pay Chief back for saving his life on Reach , Buck frees Halsey and sends her to Chief’s last known location. At certain points in the game, Locke’s past will be shown. It will be revealed at some point in the game that he watched his world and family get glassed. And that he joined ONI in the hopes that he could do the same to the homeworlds of the other alien races.
Locke? He’s pissed and so is ONI. Whats a good way to make fans hate Locke? Kill Buck execution style in Infinity’s hangar. Locke then hunts down Halsey who is helping the Chief stop Didact, Bias, and his Promothean army. A few levels and Locke catches up with Halsey and Chief. Chief isn’t too happy about Locke’s actions so they fight each other.
Locke gets smashed in a way that is T rating appropriate and Locke flees. Sadly, Chief’s fight with Locke gave Didact enough time to launch the Guardians and cripple multiple worlds. Bias also gains support of AIs in the same way Cortana did. But thats not it.
The very last cutscene shows ONI headquarters, swearing allegiance to Medicent Bias. Reasons? Guess you’ll have to find out in the next game. ( They wanted to use the Didact and Promotheans to keep the other alien races in check. ) The legendary ending will have the camera spin around and show hundreds of Spartans in Hunter armor.
Or we could just have Locke be decieved by the ONI and end up teaming with Chief to stop ONI in the next game. Buck would still be alive but Locke would’ve sent him to ONI.

Wow this is really good. I don’t think chief saved buck from reach in the noble six.

Right, I remember. I guess Chief could save Buck in extra lore or Buck has some feeling of loyalty to Chief. I’m sure a smooth reason could be given during development if it was the actual story.

Ya I see buck as being loyal to chief. I was just thinking about that but I like that idea of his loyalty.
