How would the join session in progress work in ranked?

Does that basically take out the possibility of a win/loss based ranking system? If it was win/loss then what would happen if someone doesn’t join the match for a few minutes? That would pretty much destroy the team missing a player.

I’m afraid there won’t be a ranked system.

I don’t like the idea at all really. It works in Cod and you don’t even notice it because the skill gap in cod is so small, anyone can kill anyone very easily. In Halo it would have too much of an effect on the game, especially in anything other than big team.

the most likely situation with this is there will be two main playlist; ranked and social. ranked will behave like halo always has but social will have drop in feature. this is perfect because casual and stick to social and not ruin ranked games by quitting out everytime

It wont. Join in progress is for social only. It will not be allowed in Ranked matches.

This is my theory.

That’s the only way I see Halo 4 working well if there is both Ranked and Social

okay basicaly theres join in session on social playlists but ranked playlists will be the same as now where you have to find a game and then you start together and finish together if you catch my drift

I hope it’s like this becuase if you could drop in/out in ranked then that would completely destroy the purpose of it.

No game with a ranked playlist and trueskill has that function on ranked matches. Join mid games only apply for non ranked playlists (Player/Public matches) so it will basicly ony be for the social part.

Has it been announced that there will be a ranked section of the game?

I’m afraid numerous new additions won’t work there: Instant respawn, random power weapon drops/times (if this turns out to be true), etc.

Unless they do it like Gears 3.

Unranked = drop in drop out. Ranked remains locked.

But that’s not CoD, so 343 wont copy it.
