How would one add a friend?

I’m not talking about, add someone to a group.
I’m talking about adding a new person to be on your friends-list.

How would one go about that.
I can’t seem to figure it out.

If you’re on PC, you can press Windows + G and it’ll open the Xbox game bar and in the top right should be a friends area where you can search for a player. Then you follow them and it should add them to your Halo Infinite friends list.

If you’re on Xbox, idk the exact path, but it would be wherever you search for friends and follow them there.

It is unfortunately not done through the game interface.
