What would things have been like on Halo the moment the Autumn blew up (and say, you were on the other side of the ring).
If you hung on to a tree, could you have avoided getting thrown off the ring or something?
I’ve always wondered this.
I think it depends on exactly where on the ring you were the moment the Autumn exploded. If you were on either side of the ring that was perpendicular to where the explosion occurred and where the opposite side of the ring that got smashed by that large chunk of Halo debris, I would believe you’d be fine. The Halo rings have artificial gravity, after all.
I would imagine that it wouldn’t have been too odd. I mean, if you’re on a floating ring in the middle of space with two different alien races and a Super Soldier fighting for dominance and the ring explodes, it probably wouldn’t affect you that much. You’d either be in awe or thinking “Im ready”
The Autumn’s explosion reduced the ring’s structural integrity at a single area. The spinning ring shattered itself to pieces due to the instability. The force you would have felt would have been astronomical! The shock-wave at any part of the ring might not have thrown you out of the atmosphere, but would have been lethal enough to completely destroy the surface and kill you. We saw what happened to a piece of Halo in Nightfall. In short, you will die, but you will enjoy a spectacular firework display before you go!
