There are rumours that “Team Doubles” will be “rotated” into Halo Infinite in around 4 weeks, aka week 9.
Along with launching a bare bones beta. Then staff disappearing for 4 weeks. Then systematically creating slow, underwhelming & glitchy updates. When they finally add new playlists, they almost always get it wrong & have to make adjustments based on community backlash, its like they don’t understand video games at all from the players perspective. Look at how they butchered Team Snipers. Can they not break this cycle of negative predictability?
So my question is, can we predict how they will butcher “Team Doubles”?
Here’s a few foresights:
1) It won’t be a dedicated Slayer game type, it will instead include objective game types in rotation
(100% mistake. The former prompts no backlash on launch, the latter prompts a guaranteed level of backlash)
2) It wont be Ranked
(solution: have both ranked & causal playlists, it’s not hard to do this at all, it take very little time and staff. This way all players get to enjoy a classic game type)
3) It wont be BR Start
(this will prompt better players to stomp on average or less players once they control the power weapons in a game type which is notoriously quite sweaty)
4) No option to team up with your random team double partner
(Launching Team Doubles would be the perfect time to include something positive, like the option to pair up with your random team mate quickly and seamlessly. Its moments like this that would give players hope that the game development is becoming positively active & not just reactive to negativity)
I quit & Uninstalled Halo Infinite a while back as a means to cope with everything i felt was wrong with this game. A game franchise i love so much & ultimately want the best for. I promised myself i would only reinstall the game when they add Double Team (which should have been available at launch, along with a million other things.
I don’t know nor can i rely on 3 other players to play 4v4 or 8v8 regularly. But i can always rely on having 1 other person available to play with. Double Team just makes sense as a game type.
Any other ideas as to what will be such an obvious mistake to us, but predictably missed by the developers?
