This topic makes me very curious. We’re all so used to roaming the map in search of more weapons to add to our arsenal. We all race to the Rocket Launcher, Sword, Sniper, or Shotty. But if 343 really is crafting a new progression system with weapon unlocks… How the hell will it work? It’s simply not Halo if there are no weapons laying around maps begging to be picked up and fought over. Spawning with Rockets right off the bat? No way Jose. I’m not saying this is how the system will work, but I really hope it’s nothing like I just said.
We have absolutely no idea how it will actually work. We’ll learn in time, but there is no real answer for your question at this time.
Most likely there will be no power-weapon spawns unless in designated game types. My best guess will be weapon customizations, like an adjustable BR setting between burst fire and semiauto (for that though semi-automatic would have to be atleast 3x more powerful than a single burst fire bullet.) And the perks system, they’ll probably have enhanced melee functions like longer range, or more powerful. Obviously more ways to customize as you increase your ranking.
Odds are that you will have a choice between a few different weapons as your starting primary, the AR, the BR and their covenant/forerunner/precursor counterparts. Secondary weapon choice will probably be the pistol, the SMG, and their covenant/forerunner/precursor counterparts. This will allow different types of players to get what they want without severely unbalancing the game.
except those things DO UNBALANCE THE GAME. being able to choose your load out is the definition of UNBALANCED.
I seriously doubt they will allow spawns with power weapons in normal slayer gametypees. 343i has to be smarter than that. The only way that could possibly work is if loadouts had respawns, like if someone had a rocket launcher loadout. Once they died (while using this loadout), they would not be able to reselect it for say three minutes. This would still severely unbalance the game, especially for games where a team has a few quitters.
The perk system… could potentially break the game for me. I strongly dislike rewarding players that have a lot of talent. If the perks drastically change things like reload times, weapon fire rates, melee distance, etc. I don’t know if I can be happy with the final product. I’m not trying to be whiny, it is really just my biggest fear for the Halo franchise. Plus mechs. I don’t want mechs, and I hope that multiplayer level was not a foreshadowing of a new mech
Mechs are for lesser games like F.E.A.R. and Red Faction IMO.

MY GOD! THEY NEVER EVER SAID THAT! You dont spawn with a weapon of your choice for pity sake! Why would they do that? DO you really think they are that ignorant my god! Seriously? Dude, my geuss is you choose your armor load out as armor is no longer just cosmetic. THAT IS WHAT THEY MEAN! Why the flying -Yoink- do you think they would let someone spawn with a rocket launcher? Where did you even get that idea?
