Title says it all…what do you guys think?
For me personally it can only be one way…campaign…solo…Legendary!
EDIT: Feel free to comment on the armor or visor as well…doesn’t have to be specifically the coating color! Please stick to the topic and try not to get off track.
Campaign portion all achievements 
As long as no laso and legendary speed run.
Beating the campaign on Legendary solo I would say.
Perhaps reaching a certain level in MP (a la DOOM 2016) or, as has been suggested, by completing the campaign on Legendary. Hopefully it won’t be based around something stupid and predatory involving dollar signs.
EDIT: It would be cool to see a coating for Chief though, even if it could only be used in certain modes. Hasn’t been done in a prior game before. However they do it, I hope they make it challenging or time-consuming to obtain.

I hope that it won’t be linked to any god awful long grinds. I think it’s inevitable that eventually it’ll have a price tag though and probably something roughly double or more of what other coatings cost

Do you mean armour or his colour scheme? Pretty sure coatings are just colour/pattern/texture. The actual armour would be unlocked outside of this coating system.

Either or…his color scheme will undoubtedly be a coating. Just an easy, fun way for the community to give input on it. Especially with all the other hot topics around.

Umm yep I’d be fine with that, one of the best parts of Halo is earning unlocks instead of tedious grinds to unlocks and Halo solo legendary run is what I prefer to do first.

really weve never been default green? huh i could of sworn it was a thing in for sure halo ce and halo 2 and maybe halo 3. but i could be mistaken.

So you believe that our default Spartan will be the master chief replica? I highly doubt that and pleading ignorance to the coating system isn’t a valid excuse. This was meant to be a pretty easy “what do you think” thread…taking into account that colors are behind unlockables/paywalls but clearly the bell isn’t ringing for you. The titles you mention weren’t set up the way infinite is being set up. Those were bungie titles…343i took over some time ago now in case you weren’t aware as well. 
you’ve also yet to state how you think it will be acquired which is the topic of the thread. Safe to assume you think S117 armor/coating/visor will just be the default given to us. I find that highly unlikely since he is the Face of the franchise and that monetization is in Infinite. Quite possibly the most sought after armor/color in the game, especially if people can’t find their combination of color schemes.
Please stick to the topic at hand.

Nope, both Bungie and 343i have never made Chief’s green an armor option. You can get quite close (and many “clans” in customs attempt to do so), but nothing that allowed you to exactly replicate Chief’s armor. I think the closest we got was Chief’s visor color in H4. I can see why they would have chosen this since I’m assuming they did not want their main character being cloned by everyone in MP.
Master Chief green should be an option if you complete Infinite on Legendary
