In Reach, I only really got to play anniversary maps. I never played highlands in BTB, and when the option comes up to vote for it, people don’t choose it for some reason. Will players have to deal with the same nonsense of playing dlc maps in this game like we did for reach?
Hopefully it will be mandatory to buy the DLC for some playlists.
I would expect to see more people with the maps as soon as they release, thanks to the Limited Edition including them. Downside might be that there will be just enough that people get to play on DLC maps consistently, but not enough to make it a requirement.
Hopefully there will be an option to search for only players with DLC.
Requirement or find a way to match people with map. Else it’s the last time I buy DLC map for any Halo to be released in the future.
I for one would love a search for DLC owners option for Halo 4, as I could rarely play DLC maps in matchmaking for halo 3 & Reach.
Especially in Reach, where certain achievements are tied to a DLC map pack and a specific gametype cough…infection…cough.
Buying dlc maps should NEVER be mandatory! That must be solved other way. I think Uncharted series make it right. When you play normal matchmaking there also comes quite often dlc maps. If 343 industries want people to buy dlc so as many as possible would have them, make season pass; buy all dlc with one, for significally cheaper price. 3 map packs for 1600ms points or 4 map packs for 2400ms points
A great feature would be to search for other people with the map packs.
Or, create dlc play lists.
Sidenote: Don’t make the dlc achievements map specific. That sort of screwed me over with the anniversary/defiant ones. (The 3 new defiant ones).
There should be DLC only Playlist, and when a map pack goes free all play list should require them. As for other playlist they should pair you better so have a good chance in getting DLC. I mean think of how many people will have the first three map pack day one with LE. I do not want a matchmaking experience where I never see DLC. And while I agree that it should not be required in all playlist there need to be DLC focused ones though.
