My latest theory is that those parallel trailers we saw of Locke and Chief pulling a pistol on each other are both accurate in a way…
If you have been keeping up with Hunt the Truth, then you know that there is speculation that Chief was at the root of a massacre of a peace negotiations among species. My speculation, is that the person wasn’t chief, but an imposter, be it UNSC, or someone else to maintain, and further stir the tensions between humans and covies.
I believe that Locke hunts down the impostor Chief and pulls a gun on him. Later once that similar trailer is showing a more late afternoon feel, Chief turns on Locke, for something the UNSC, or ONI are trying to pull on John.
They better fight! And chief better melee him in the face!
I think Halo 2 will be the base precedent.
Blue Team will curb stomp Locke’s team on the first encounter, in which the search then becomes a question of Locke’s pride to catch Chief rather than his mission, something which Buck and Macer berate him over. Locke’s pride eventually leads to him getting a lot of people killed, and the destruction of a location. Master Chief finds Locke among the ruin and expresses his disappointment in Locke.
Colter did say that Locke is going to be in more than one game. I think he’s going to be beaten by Chief then speak with him and eventually side with him.

No offense but if it is a impostor I will facepalm so hard.
My honest answer is I don’t care. But I still threw out my guess, which was they’ll fight, but chief will join Locke. People seem to want to find the answers to how this game will play by looking back at past games’ storylines. I think the answers are more so in the E3 2013 to Present trailers. Chief is lost, and I don’t mean that literally, though I suppose he could be.
Use your ability to empathize with a person in his shoes. 343i wants the human element in these games, moving the series away from its traditional self-actualized cheesiness. He’s vulnerable…emotionally. Given the dark theme to the current trilogy (like every other piece of hyped mass media these days) I’m guessing Chief joins the dark side in 5, and probably doesn’t come out from there until the very end of 6.
Remember, just as 4 helped set up 5…5 will help set up 6.
Both headshot each other with no shields on either, so they kill each other.
Thats right, then you will play as the somehow-resurrected, now-Spartan 4 Sgt. Johnson for Halo 6
Yep.
Jk lol
