> We saw Frankie rank up to A-7 in a video clip. Is that just some random placeholder, or is that hinting at a new type of ranking system? –Degeneratlon

So we get a really subtle yet strong inference here of a skill based ranking system of some sort. I, as I’m sure many of you, would welcome this as long as there is also a Trueskill style matchmaking system to ensure matching opponents who are close in skill. However, the prevalence of boosters, derankers, account buyers, AFK’ers, and overall bad eggs that plagued Halo 3 matchmaking made the experience nearly unplayable at times.
So what systems will be in place to stop these negative influences from ruining the matchmaking experience for everyone? People all want some visible indicator of their skill in the game but people are really quick to forget all the negatives that went along with that the last time we had it (in H3).
What kinds of measures will stop these unsavory elements and still allow us to enjoy skilling up legitimately?
Hopefully, it will be something similar to what Rockstar Games has done which is keeping them in their own separate playlist where they can only play each other.
This. All we will have to do is be able to report players for cheating/boosting, and then they will be punished by playing against other cheaters/boosters.

I don’t if you played Call of Duty online, but there’s a mercenary lobby where no parties are allowed. So players can’t have their friends play with him in there, and they’ll have to take it somewhere else. That’s restricting the party.
This is only a big problem during the first week of the game when everyone is trying to get the online achievements. It normally stops or becomes unnoticeable after a few weeks. What Im saying is that the problem solves itself. No need to make a system for it.

Umm how long did you play Halo 3? I played it today and came across boosters and cheaters. They were the reason I had stopped playing briefly 2 years ago, and they’re still here.

actually the merc playlist is the second most popular playlist to boost in besides FFA because you can join on your friends.

Im sorry I was thinking along the line of Achievements. Forgot all about the Rank boosting side of it. I guess for Rank playlist they could limit your party to the size of the team. But boosters always find a way. With the join game in progress it might be even easier for them.
