I don’t feel like paying 2000M$ points, but after playing same few maps again and again I’m desparate. However if I buy incoming map packs, then how will I be able to play them on Xbox Live? Will there be separate playlists dedicated just for DLCs or new maps could be choosen if all players in the same match have them?
If there’s separate playlists then it’s no good. I hated playing Team Mythic in Halo 3 because it ends with some objectiveb bs, when all I want to do is to play Team Slayer.
If new maps are added into standard Team Slayer and Big Team Slayer, then even worse, because it’s very rarely that all players in 1 match have same map packs. I played only few times on dlc maps in Halo 3 Social Team Slayer, even though I got them all with Halo 3 ODST disc.
One way or another it seems that DLC is waste of money. Maybe there is other way to include map packs into Xbox Live map roster?
I wish they would do what they did with halo 3, and have it force you to buy the map pack in order to play most of the playlist. As selfish as this seems, it really is the only fair way to do this with map packs. I regrettably bought the map packs in halo:REACH and was screwed over because of it. I very, very, VERY, rarely got even the option to select a DLC map. As hardly anyone bought the maps on REACH. (and I don’t blame them lol)
Halo 3, even with the forced DLC requirments per playlist. Held a very solid population through the duration of Halo 3’s prime. I was very hesitant to buy these map packs even, as I am no fan of vehicles in halo, nor maps that support anything bigger than a mongose. However it’s not fair for me to share an opion like this and not buy the maps.
Just my 2 cents.
I agree, we who pay for their DLC should be the priority over the people that may have rented halo 4 from blockbusters for a week to try out the MM
Agreed with Saurika, wasted money on maps that were never selected.

Oh…
Then when Forge maps will be added into Team Slayer and Big Team Slayer?
i say it will have it’s own playlist, what about the missing achievement on the article about the achievements. There is one showed with a grenade with an X behind it but it’s not part of the list. That’s the bigger question at hand
I would like them to take Valhalla, Haven, and exile out and put the new maps there as I’m sick of only playing those same maps
I’d prefer a slayer based playlist for dlc and stock maps together. Makes the most sense

Sorry friend, I haven’t seen anything official. Perhaps someone else has better information but I think we just need to be patient.
It will be interesting to see how they handle the playlists as each new map pack is introduced. Any solution is bound to have its drawbacks.
TrueSkill and CSR complicate matters further.
Seperate playlists for now, hopefully as the DLC gets rolled out it’ll become a unified “Premium” playlist and then eventually become mandatory, with perhaps a “Vanilla” playlist for people without DLC.
I’d like my DLC to be supported this time, please 343.

that would be the best solution.
As for now 343i doesn’t show me the investment worth it so now I let the Comunity the time to show me if it worth buying 2000ms for that DLC.
Btw: Don’t be shocked if they implant the DLC during 1 WEEK as a playlist. But don’t worry SWAT STILL THERE!
> Now, back to the Crimson maps! The 12.10 Matchmaking update will include a brand new Crimson DLC playlist, and it will also integrate the Crimson maps into existing playlists. Let’s tackle the Crimson DLC playlist first. It will be 6 vs. 6 and include the following map and game type combinations:
>
> • Infinity Slayer – Shatter
> • Capture the Flag – Shatter
> • Extraction – Shatter
> • King of the Hill – Shatter
> • Infinity Slayer – Wreckage
> • Capture the Flag – Wreckage
> • King of the Hill – Wreckage
> • Oddball – Wreckage
> • Infinity Slayer – Harvest
> • Capture the Flag – Harvest
> • King of the Hill – Harvest
>
>
> The following Crimson maps will be added into these existing playlists:
>
> • Infinity Slayer – Harvest
> • Big Team Infinity Slayer – Wreckage and Shatter
> • Dominion – Shatter
> • Capture the Flag – Harvest and Wreckage
> • SWAT – Harvest
> • Team Slayer Pro – Harvest
>
> The Matchmaking algorithm is weighted to match players who have DLC with other players who have DLC so if you have the Crimson Map Pack and you enter a regular playlist, you should see the new maps on a regular basis. This is something we can adjust, so if the new maps aren’t appearing as often as we’d like, we’ll continue to tweak the formula.
