Greetings Community,
A lot of people have wanted Halo 5 to show the skill based ranks in Arena since its release, yet so far we haven’t seen 343 going a step back again towards a more personal lobby in matchmaking, as we used to have them in previous titles. Now, regardless of how good or bad the ranking system actually works, I came up with the idea to use emblems as a code for actual ranks.
The thought is rather a makeshift, yes, and many of you will say it won’t work anyway, since either won’t people follow that concept prefering to keep their individual emblem for aesthetical reasons, or they they don’t because they simply won’t hear of this idea. - Considering whether this could actually work brings us to a few requirements thus: first the idea has to be spread by everyone who is going to hear about it and second the emblems that are assigned to a certain rank must be common or uncommon emblems, since those are unlocked faster in the game (althought I think people who want to show their arena rank usually have been playing long enough to have a decent pool of emblems, plus you could as well assign more than one emblem to a certain rank and for simplification you could go with the divisions only, rather then the 6 levels in each.)
I personally don’t really care about visible ranks, as I don’t think they actually represent one’s individual skill accurately for a couple of reasons, nonetheless I know many of you want that thing in the game. - In the worst case we might rise some awareness for that fact to be recognised by 343.
Let the community hear what you think of that idea or talk to friends about it and share their thoughts on it with us.
Here is an example of how such an assignement could look like, using only common emblems:
Bronze - Mjolnir
Silver - Rooster
Gold - Runes
Platin - Helmet
Diamond - Wolf
Onyx - Jolly Roger
Champion - Spartan
Regards,
Lion.
