Hello everyone the reason I’m writing this is to ask the Halo Community, how they believe we can bring this wonderful franchise that is Halo back as one of the best games in our generation, by giving ideas and reason of why they believed to be the best option and hope that this topic can reach the people in charge of 343i and see if they are willing to consider them.
Well these are some of the ideas I have in order to change Halo in some aspects without changing the classic mode that we grow up with and love.
Full Spartan Customization,
Since Halo 3, we start to love being different that our fellow players, this was possible back during Halo Reach with the ability to change our Spartan’s gender, chest-plate, shoulders, ,arms, wrist, helmet, visor, legs, etc. in Halo 4 it removed a lot of the little details that we loved from Reach, as taking away the wrist, arms and helmets, but they gave us a lot more of armor designs and skins, but now in Halo 5 we have some many armor designs but the freedom that we used to enjoy is no more, now only limited to change Helmet, armor and visor, this take away the fun that many people had when they were looking to personalize their Spartans, now we are forced to take a more “Generic” look making the experience more dull in my opinion. Just to make it simple, please bring back the old Customization system, by allowing us to choose how we look we would spend hours trying to get the perfect set of armor that we want, thus investing hour time in the game.
New Gameplay
Now don’t take me wrong, Halo 5 gameplay has a huge improve from Halo 4, by adding sprinting and climbing, the game has become faster and fluid making us feel more like the Bad–Yoink- super soldiers that we are suppose to be. but back with Reach we also experience the same feeling even if it was a little bit slower, the Armour abilities gave us an edge against the horde of enemies that we faced in the campaign while giving us bigger challenge in the multiplayer, unfortunately this featured started to lack when it was passed to Halo 4, with the removal of Armor lock and Drop Shield being a mistake in my opinion, and now with the complete removal of Armor abilities in Halo 5, now you can see why I believe is necessary to bring back those amazing features to the game.
-Campaign: Here there is not much to say, it could give us more options when it comes to deal with different obstacles during our missions, but aside from that it wont change that much.
-Multiplayer: Here is where I focus when it comes to Armor abilities, those who took the time to master these power-ups can understand what is like when you survived a mega-explosion by using the armor lock or getting someone their rocket back by reflecting it with the Hardlight shield, that kind of experience is something that I miss, and I’m sure there others that do too.
New Game modes and old ones
Something that bothers me a lot and I think it does to others too, its the lack of game modes in multiplayer, from classics like KOTH, Infection, Griffball, etc. to some that are not longer with us like Invasion and Race. Sure we can play some of these games by using forged maps, but it would be more easier if they were official game modes for all the community.
Also, we are in 2016, with cannot expect to keep playing the same game types every Halo game, I’m not saying that the game modes are getting boring, only that they are not as unique as they were before. To solve this we could take a look to the Fan made maps and modes that the Halo Community so skillfully makes, for example the Hostage Rescue game or Castle Wars, 343i should take a look at those game modes and use them while recognizing the players who created the idea.
Spartan Ops/Fireteam: A Co-op completed campaign
Something I loved from Halo 3 and Reach was to be able to play the campaign alongside 3 friends even by having another sharing a splitscreen with me, however that experience was surpasses by Halo 4 Spartan Ops, by allowing us to play missions with “our” customize Spartans, of course the experience was short because of the game simple mechanics, by recycling old maps 3 or 4 times every episode, making the gameplay boring after some time.
What I propose is to change the dynamic of these game modes, and make it more “Special Ops” like, considering that we are a bunch of super soldiers, whose speciallity is to take down treats to big for normal soldiers. by using a system of class, we can create a dynamic of teamwork that involves players in Fireteam to take roles for a specific purpose, such as Trooper, Scout, Demolition, Sniper and Medic. This roles can be choose by the specific armor abilities that the players must have, like Sniper and Camouflage, Medic and Drop Shield, Trooper and Armor lock, Scout and Hologram and Demolition and Jetpack. This way players will feel a more challenging gameplay by actually creating strategies for specific foes, thus giving us a more fulfilling teamwork experience.
And whats better than just making your own character? Giving it a story of course. Back with Reach, when we were given the role of Noble 6, we had the freedom of giving him/her the appearance that we like more, however in the end of the day, this character wasn’t truly “ours” because it had already an specific role in the story, and even a default set of features. But what make the experience worth? the fact that we saw all the changes in our Noble 6 armor in the cutscenes! In halo 4 Spartan Ops, during the Cutscenes we always saw a recorded CGI scene about Fireteam Majestic adventures and how they stopped Jul’Dama from taking the Janus Key and stuff, but what about Fireteam Crimson? What about us? “WE” the Spartans who spent hours cleaning areas of enemies, we who risked our lives to allow the Infinity escape from Requiem, so why I’m not important enough to be seen? Here is simple, give us cutscenes of our customized characters, even if they doesn’t speak, at least have them looking cool and showing them as the Bad–Yoinks!- that “WE” are.
Change the REQ system and bring back Award System.
For last, there has been an issue when it comes to the use of REQ packs, the current system is so unbalanced because they way it works, players will need to play Hours to get REQ points, which you gain more if you play Warzone, only to buy a REQ pack that only contains common weapons or XP and REQ points boost. These kind of situations are very common, and myself as a victim of a flawed system I can say that this make a terrible option for those who wish to get all the collectible items and armors if thing still going like this. First above all the use of Bronze, Silver and Gold pack is terrible, in the sense that unless you choose Gold packs, your chances of getting something good is null. Instead of mixing all the card types in 3 single cards, you should bring multiple options and different prices, like for example, Bronze Weapons pack 1000, Silver Weapons Pack 3000, Gold 5000, platinum 10000, then we have Bronze unlockable pack 1500, silver 5000, Gold 10000 and platinum 15000, this way people can actually have chances to unlock armor or weapons unlike when numbers are against you.
And for Award system? well just do it like back in Reach and 4, honestly I want to feel like I did something amazing when I obtain an special armor because I earn it rather that pay 100 dollars by buying REQ packs.
Well this is all, please give your opinions and ideas for how to make Halo something amazing again.

Hell to the -Yoink- no. The removal of Armor Lock was one of the few things this series did right recently, and bringing it back would ruin the “classic Halo we grew to love”.

Well this series has done a lot right but whoever decided Armor Lock was a good idea should be Armor Locked in the face for it. Let it die with Reach. Please

Not sure if this is entirely possible or if it comes with any issues, but a lobby finder for customs. If I could list my custom game on some sort of in-game browser, then that would make custom games much more available and doable.
